Its about now that I have a few anti post bets on our beloved National.Yes it was a lottery but I think over the past few years the quality has improved and the form starts to stack up.
Would welcome you thoughts on Calgary Bay as he has alot going for him.Tatenten is my shot in the dark as he travels, jumps and doesnt mind a scrap.
Calgary Bay looks a different horse this year and he can be put in a race anyway(always an advantage) Whereas Tatenten has some toe and he can travel like a dream only downside to him his he wins once a year at Ascot!
Loving Calgary Bay at the moment. Backed him for his last 2 wins. Couldn't believe he was trading at 15s for the Donny race. Great chance in the National now i think.

Bit concerned about what weight CB might get now? Looking at the official ratings could end up carrying 11st 9 if Synchronised, Weird Al and Midnight Chase come out. Likely to be on 11st 5 initially?

While not nearly as bad as the main horse racing forum, the antepost forum isn't nearly as good as this one so cannot blame people for wanting to talk about other festivals here...

I wonder if the Grand National winner will come out of the Cheltenham festival this year? Which races should we be watching with the National half in mind?
Their you go, sorted. It's as on topic now as that thread about Newbury!

There is a general horse racing forum for talking about Newbury. I'm sure some knob-head will tell you "it's off" but apart from that you should be ok. Or the antepost forum to talk about races at Newbury with an antepost market.
Which races at Cheltenham do you think will have a bearing on the National this year? I think it might be whatever they are calling the Ritz Club Handicap Chase this year rather than the Kim Muir or Gold Cup.
