Day 1. Don't know much about the Supreme. SS has a fair chance in the Arkle, but this will be the race of the festival. HF will win Scotsirish? The one to beat Quevega? nailed on, if she turns up and why wont she?
Day 2 Fingal bay? Done nothing wrong. 4 from 4 this season and all graded races. Grand Crus? If he turns up in the RSA. The one to beat. Sizing Europe? Certainty. What can beat it? Nothing. Day 3. Ryanair? Wide open, just now imo Big Bucks? Enough said. Day 4. Long Run? Again the horse to beat. Put up a pro and he is odds on. Sorry Sam.
There is 7 winning fave, imo, that will win. That is before the h'cap gambles.
I agree. Some 4 or 5 bankers developing. But as my dad would say, 'they all won't win'. Struggling to find holes in some of them, Sizing Europe and Big Bucks look bombproof. I'd be tempted to say Hurricane Fly purely because Ive missed the boat already but soundness wise, he is more vulnerable than others and the fact he doesn't have form over Binocular, Grandouet etc. Clutching at straws though.

Peddlers, The Fly easily beat Binocular by 9 lengths at Punchestown last year. I reckon he is the surest of the certs. Many so-called certs get turned over at the Festival but a lot of them are novices. I believe most of the "certs" this year are established winners who have proved themselves at this level over course and distance. I reckon The Fly, Big Bucks, Sizing and Quevega will all win and there will be at best about 4 other favourites.

Scotsirish, Sprinter Sacre and Long Run have real favourite's chances, as does Grands Crus if he runs in the RSA.
There are likely to be at least some favourite winners between the handicaps, bumper and novice hurdles but it's hard to predict them at this stage.

I agree, but I can't remember a year where 5 weeks before the festival I can't find anything to oppose The Fly, Quevega, Sizing Europe and Big Bucks with, then Long Run should win the worst Gold Cup in memory, if Grand Crus goes for the RSA it's a penalty kick and if he goes down the Gold Cup route I'd expect Bobs Worth to be very hard to beat, Scotsirish in the XC looks strong, Hold on Julio could be anything and could make a mockery of his handicap mark in the old W HIll chase. Of course there'll be a few shocks....

Certainly not the worst Gold Cup in my memory! Anyone else remember Adam Kondrat managing to get beat a short head on The Fellow by the 10yo handicapper Cool Ground? Every year some horses looked nailed on at Cheltenham and every year some of them get beat. Don't expect this year will be any different...
