Tom George is keen to run Baby Mix before the Cheltenham Festival after his lacklustre effort at the track on Saturday.

The four-year-old grey was sent off the 7-4 joint-favourite for the JCB Triumph Hurdle Trial on the back of a wide-margin win at the track in December. However, he finished last of the six runners and while George has no excuses, he would like to run Baby Mix again before the JCB Triumph Hurdle on March 16.

"Baby Mix disappointed in the juvenile hurdle. He has been checked over by the vet (on Monday morning) and everything appears to be normal," he told his website, www.tomgeorgeracing.co.uk.

"It is highly likely we will give him a run in between now and the Festival."
