apart from cinders and ashes everything in behind has been awful since, ive said it a few months ago that i thought it was a weak bumper, and i think time has proven just how awful a race it was

You are right. Unless Cheltenian comes back and wins something significant next year, the rest of them look moderate as the RPR ratings last season suggested. The one that I am agrieved about is Cousin Khee who I noted having an easy race at Bangor recently but somehow I missed him when he strolled in at 5/1 next time. He could be a lot better than his rating.

agreed,he looks like he has a bit of potential.i dont think Cheltenian will be anything more than average either

Interestingly the form of the Punchestown Champion Bumper has been very very good. Granted Waheeb is injured and Lovethehigherlaw sadly died, but behind them 2 I think most of them have won since. It's ashame neither of the 1st have run since as imo they are/were exceptional animals.

Not sure whether more and more trainers/owners are taking the stance that the race (Chelts that is) takes to much out of a youngster?

The best Bumper horses last season missed it, i.e. Samain, Lovethehigherlaw (RIP), Waaheb.

By the way the fourth from Cheltenham, Aupcharlie runs today at Leopardstown.
