Will be commuting daily from Birmingham to the festival, any info guys on decent pubs around Birmingham city centre for the Monday afternoon/evenings pre chelters swally ?

Seems unlikely, most city centre pubs are all Slug n Lettuce wannabes.
plenty in bham by new street...just head out of the station and you have good ones like the shakespeare, yard of ale etc..head up to colmore row and theres many good ones with BANK in the square the best imo
win some money and get a taxi to libras sauna
