Some advice please all. I've been to The festival 7-8 times but always on Thursdays and Fridays. My wife is letting me go this year after a break of 4 years (young family, work commitments etc). Can only go 1 day - tuesday or wednesday. I like champion hurdle and chase equally so can't let that sway me. What would best day to go be? I'll be in club most likely. Not sure what day atmos will be better. Cheers in advance.

If im honest i would say im 95% Tuesday.I love the build up and expectation and will be sat suppin a ****ss in club not long after the gates open lapping up the atmosphere
Has to be the Tuesday - after all the build-up it's finally here.... Although you'll miss the champ chase, think how good the arkle could be this year!

Wednesday shades it for me - the RSA is my favourite race of the week and the Coral Cup is a cracking handicap. Obviously you have the QMCC. I also enjoy the Bumper (which, like the cross country, may be a marmite race).
I also think the last three races on the Tuesday are three of the weakest of the Festival so Wed is surely the stronger card overall.

I agree that the racing on weds is marginally better but I just wonder what that day one roar is like and if all that anticipation makes it that extra bit special. Some years it has felt like the festival needs a day to get going though. Such a tough decision - but a cracking one to have to make.
Quite agree with your marmite comment Strontium, but personally quite enjoy the x-country - definitely worth the experience of watching it from the middle, gives a whole new perspective looking back at the grandstand.

And they may not be up to championship class, but how can you argue with finishes like those provided by wichita lineman and bensalem? Getting excited already....!!
I don't knock it at all - the first 4 races on the Tuesday card are wonderful.
Generally I enjoy the Wednesday the most and historically, the Champion Chase has been one of the Festival's most spectacular features. The one race that I won't want to miss in 2012 however is the Arkle Chase, which is shaping up to be a hummdinger, so Tuesday it is.
