Burton Port - someone posted in one of the Grands Crus threads that he's doing fast work, should come back mid-Feb and will have a Gold Cup entry.

In todays RacingPost.  Henderson says "Burton Port saw a fence for the first time this season and jumped spectacular.  The Gold Cup is an option and he will have an entry in the Grand National".

Hendo trying to get Jack The Giant back for the Ryanair.  Didn't do very well last time after a long lay off, but I'd love to see this fella back at the festival.

Six-time Grade One-winning hurdler SOLWHIT has not been since chasing home old rival Hurricane Fly in the 2011 Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown, but he too is pleasing Byrnes after returning to work.

This time last year the eight-year-old was being readied for a novice chase campaign, but those plans have been shelved at this stage. "He's at the same stage as Weapons Amnesty, but his injury wasn't quite as bad. Hopefully he'll be OK," said Byrnes.
"Again he will hopefully be back on the course in November time and everything is good at the moment.
"I think we'll probably stay over hurdles now. He'll have a run in November and then maybe one at Christmas and then we'll see where we are.
"We might have to go over fences in the New Year, but at the moment we are looking at staying over hurdles."

Last Instalment, Jessies Dream and Weapons Amnesty are all drifting like barges in the Gold Cup market on here. Any firm news on any of them?

SALUT FLO.....Return to racecourse on hold after surgery following a bout of colic.

The drift on Last Instalment is a worry Stront.  Backed him in March ew at 50/1, and thought I was sitting on a pretty decent bet.

The last update was off Philip Fenton on 25th October below; I don't know if anything has happened since, or will be kept in Ireland for the year?  Even though I didn't back him once, I love this fella.  Has the potential to be better than SDC imo.

Last Instalment is still on target to return to action some time in the new year.

Trainer Philip Fenton has been delighted with his recuperation over the summer months from the tendon injury which prevented him running at the Cheltenham Festival.

Before injury struck, Last Instalment had stated his case for being the best staying novice chaser in Ireland, with victories in two Grade Ones suggesting the sky was the limit.

"He's in good shape but I wouldn't have thought he'd be running until January time," said Fenton.

"He came back to me in mid-September and he's done lots of road work.

"Crucially his tendons seem fine at the moment, that's the main thing.

"We haven't yet got as far as picking out a race for him, I expect we'll have a sit down in the next six to eight weeks and pick out a target."

To answer my own question, she is entered in the Morgiana on Sunday against the Fly.  Shame I missed the 100's for the Champion Hurdle, but still might have a little flutter @ 65's.

Two interesting horses on the comeback trail with Nicky Henderson, are Jack the Giant, come out of retirement, and Khyber Kim, back with Nicky for a second time, and is being trained for one last attempt at the champion hurdle.

Weapons Amnesty entered for the G2 3m hurdle at Leopardstown on 28th Dec.

Charles Byrnes will be as delighted as anyone that today's meeting at Punchestown goes ahead as it sees the eagerly-awaited return of his star hurdler SOLWHIT.

Byrnes reports the six-times Grade 1 winner to be ready to return to action in the Follow Punchestown On Facebook Hurdle at the Co. Kildare track.

Solwhit has not raced since finishing second to his old adversary Hurricane Fly in the Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown in January 2011, but he has been back in training since July.

"We haven't seen him on the track for nearly two years. He's as fit as I can get him at home. He will come on for the run, but he's ready to start back," said Co. Limerick-based Byrnes.
"Hopefully it will go ahead as I'd like to get him started. He's been back in since July but we've taken it slowly.

"Touch wood all looks good with him but because of the ground conditions with the weather he hasn't been away from home because there has been no grass gallops open the last couple of months."
