Ground was pretty quick this March and he could not win, albeit this yr's winner is a decent horse IMO

reality is it would want to be a very poor race for him to win i think

Not precisely, but it's very rare.

I agree with RC and RDS - WaF seems a shade short of the highest class.

he hasnt fulfilled his potential,  backed him ante post last season and he gave kauto 3rd place so i didnt get payed outSad.
i think that was his best chance of placing with 2 aging stars and a load of horses not good enuff.
this year he will have to beat the likes of weapons amnesty, bostons angel, quito de la roque and wishfull thinking.  i do not think he is up to the task.

the challengers are queing up to get long run

good luck anyway ya shilock

Burton port as well to come back.

Plenty ahead of him.

Dont think the potential was ever really there.

I think he is a decent horse but one Nicholls has done brilliantly with. He has a kink and apparently does not take his racing well. Nevertheless he's been placed in aHennessy, won a Lexus, won a Martel, been placed in an AON, and come 4th in a Gold Cup. I do not think he is quite top, top class, but it is not a bad return.

add diamond harry to the list of challengers....i'm prepared to let him prove to me that cheltenham isn't his track....he never went a yard in his rsa....i was beginning to think that long run didn't love the place until last march....if diamond harry brings his A game to the table this season he certainly won't have anything to worry about from that irish mob mentioned above.
