They both look good things but the king george guaranteed to be a tougher race this yer - captain chris, wishful thinking, master minded may all turn up.

Stay away from staying chases no value the competition is heavy next season. Early season Long Run wasnt spot on as shown at Cheltenham, he will have to be for the KG.

Kauto was not the horse he was in the KG think there will be a horse graduating from the novice ranks will give him more to do this season. He will have to be spot on come the KG again this season.

Diamond is terrific on his day, but wouldn't they train him for newbury again in the hope that Denman turns up? Either way, if they did not, Ireland may be a better option for him that the KG, although I think Nick Williams has said he was not that keen on taking him over there.

good luck with your bet cammy but if i were you i would put a few of these doubles on and take the price on big bucks but leave long run at s.p ,long run could well start around 5/2 -3/1 or bigger given the strength of opposition he will face and you havent got to worry if hes a non runner

cammy mate its up to you if you look at last years threads you will see that i was all over long run for the gold cup and i backed him in last years king george but he was up against horses that were past there best .....kauto denman ect he will be up against some real up and coming young chasers this year capt chris wish think plus a few less exposed improvers coming out of the woodwork not saying he wont do it but his task will be much harder this time round ,good luck with your bets !

A little each way on Captain Chris might be a nice cover as Wishful Thinking, ended last season on a mark in the 160's, well Hobbs reckons Captain Chris is the better of the two and we probably haven't seen him over his best trip yet, the major worry would be the ground, but if Hobbs is right and CC is better than WT now, and with improvement to come, he will take a lot of stopping in the KG and GC

yes neili fancy him big for the gold cup if hobbs campaings him that route ,the way he travelled in the arkle i knew barring a fall from halfway i had done the win part of my realt dubh bet . i dont think the g.cup trip will be a problem kicking king and war of attrition plus kauto were 2 milers early on and being by presenting stamina should be no problem .would think p.hobbs would go gold cup but as he has wish think as well it makes it trickey having an ante post bet now ,should get some idea when those stable tours come out .good luck with your bets .

I am not sure i can have CC around Cheltenham again - odd to say about a horse who has won twice there, I know. He outstayed Finians in March and Finians was making him look a mug at the top of the hill (i know races are not won at the top of the hill). CC was a deserved winner at the line but he wont outstay Long Run in the Gold Cup IMO and his jumping going left is a concern for me. He has tones of scope and is a really likeable horse but seems to have a tendency to go right. He hung right even when he won over hurdles. Maybe his breathing op has helped, maybe it was immaturity, maybe the slightly slower Gold Cup speed will help. The horse loves Kempton, and I would think he'd be an e/w player at least, maybe in the mould of Riverside last yr, probably better in fact and probably able to land a blow on Long Run in that race.

Foyles, I agree, I do not think CC would have a problem with the GC trip and the type of ground we often see come up now in March should not be a problem, the reverse in fact.

it would be foolish to dismiss wishful thinking lightly as hes improving all the time, that display at aintree was brilliant and then again in ireland giving weight

He is the one horse I am most excited about for next season. Think 3 miles round Kempton will be his absolute ideal, as long as the ground isnt too soft.
