LOL grade1, that's what I thought, surely that's the one that ran at Meydan last week?
I remember reading somewhere that Waley-Cohen paid in the region of £450K for Long Run. Sizing Europe must be getting on for being the biggest snip in racing history, having repaid his cost 60 odd times over? |

Thanks - very interesting post. What bargains Sizing Europe and Alberta's Run were. I think Imperial Commander only cost £19k, so there are still a few Cheltenham fairytales around.

Buena Vista was 675k when bought as a yearling by Coolmore.
He surely went for a hell of aot less once his flat career hit the rails  |

Similar with Final Approach who cost 180k to run on the flat, surelay Mr Mullins bought for alot less

I bet the original owners were hoping for a flat rating of 133 and 138 (his two festival hurdle wins).
I am sure Matt and the late Jean didn't spend anywhere near the original tag!! |
