To a horse that may not have been the greatest of all time but for me the epitomy of what a genuine horse is all about, again he has run a cracker against opponents that have beat him several times and for a brief moment I thought he was going to get in the mix one last time.

To see him launch himself up that hill once again when coming back onto the bridle almost brought a tear to my eyes.

I must've backed him on countless occassions at Cheltenham and he has been placed at good prices nearly every time.

Not sure If the horse has been retired yet but If he does he thorougly deserves it, Kauto and Denman may be true champions (and rightly so) but by god this beast would battle like his life depended on it thanks for the memories.

nice words there.

backed him for a place but we needed Grand Crus to set a pace,it did'nt happen and that was that.
Game effort as always from the horse. He is one of those that the game will be poorer without.

They don't come more genuine; reminds me a lot of Lough Derg.  What National Hunt racing is all about.

CV, I too loved Mighty Man.  He was from the era when I first started watching racing; Well Chief, Mighty Man, Ashley Brook, Kauto Star, Exotic Dancer, Black Jack Ketchum, Our Vic.....those were the days.

Lovely horse - the type that makes NH racing what it is. Hope he gets home safe and sound on Thursday and has a long and happy retirement.

Some great names there chief Happy
