One of the Best ever.

Sizing Europe has had one of the weirdest ever preparations I've witnessed for the QMCC.

One minute he's running around in the mud i Ireland taking on the great Kauto Star in a bog over 3 miles, then he goes on a boat ride and gets sick. His trainer says stuff it think I'll go back to 2 miles and the horse puts up one of the best performances ever seen in the race.

I was a huge fan of this horse before he won the Irish Champion and had backed him at around 16/1 for the CH. He looked all over the winner that day until he wrenched himself going to the 3rd last had to be eased down to a walk.

He ran a couple of stinkers and enough was enough for me and I haven't backed him since.

Ever felt like an idiot?

Sizing Europe has no won The Arkle and the QMCC and with luck on his side would have most likely won The Champion Hurdle.

I don't know  what others may think of this but that performance yesterday blew me away. He jumped brilliantly and the way he picked up after the last and shot up the hill was outstanding.

When Master Minded won the race he looked fantastic but he was beating VPU who probably was the most over rated Champion Chaser I ever saw. The race he won was a desperate affair and Master Minded was given a totally false rating based on the fact he had beat him so far.

You can make all the excuses you want for Master Minded but he was never the second coming people thought he was. Just a very very good horse flattered by a very average one.



Sizing Europe is a different ball game. His trainer seems to have a touch of the Henry Alper's about him  but the horse is so talented he still somehow manage to turn one of the best QMCC of recent years in to a one horse spectacle.

The time of the race was excellent and Big Zeb and Captain Cee bee who finally showed his true form were as tough opponents as you could hope for.


Brilliant display and up there with the best of all time.
