Don't ask me why but I think Big Buck's might be vulnerable tomorrow. I think his tendency to hit flat spots has been threatening to catch up with him for some time and tomorrow might be the day. Funnily enough I'm not quite convinced that Grands Crus is the horse to serve it up.
Fiveforthree is a previous festival winner who I feel has a cracking chance but I just can't shake Celestial from my mind at 33/1. Last two races looked as good as ever. Has festival form going back years and incredibly is just seven. My worry is that I've been looking for a big priced angle all festival and maybe missinng out on some more obvious winners.
I hesitate to ask this on the Betfair forum but am I losing the plot?
Previous good festival form counts for everything. This week already, Al Ferof 2nd in the bumper last year, won the 1st race this year, Peddlers Cross won 2m-4f novice hurdle last year, 2nd in Champion Hurdle this year. Sizing Europewon the Arkle last year and wins the Champion Chase this year. Imperial Commander won Ryanair Chase 2009, wins Gold Cup 2010. Denman wins Sun Alliance Chase 2007, wins Gold Cup 2008 and I expect you can go back doing that for ever. Best Mate 2nd in Supreme novice hurdle, No chelthenham meeting the next year, but goes on to win 3 Gold Cups. Some horses just take to the Festival meeting, others just can't take to it.

I think you may be festivaled out and it's only half time!!! Only joking.I would think big bucks has not hit a flat spot for 6 races now and looking to get him beat for the sake of it will only cost you loot. When AP rode him at newbury for the first time both Nicholls and Stewart were dying to ask him the question and did "how does he compare to Baracouda?". The answer was simply that Big Bucks had different gears to the great stayer. Everyone keeps telling you that he has only beat the same horses over and over but they said the same about Hurricane Fly. Sometimes a bet is not required and you just have to salute the greatest staying hurdler you will ever likely see.

I cant knock BB. But you have to say that CH looks one that could potentially improve for the step up. He was second in a Champion Hurdle (abeit a weak one) as a 5yo. 3 miles could be the making of him. I've had a very small win bet on him but I really fancy BB tomorrow and having Grand Crus to make the price is good news IMO.
BB will be heavily odds on by the off IMO.

Back from the Dead is celestial halo but he wouldn't get this trip in the back of a cart IMo. Nice to see him in the race but beat Big Buck's.......yeah right! dream on.
