...and warm congratulations to Hurricane Fly, his connections and backers!

As a few of you may be aware I made the horse my nap lay of the meeting, and im happy to hold my hands up and say I got it all completely arse about face! He handled the track, showed massive heart and beat a very good horse into 2nd place; faultless performance!

Not my only mistake of the opening day it has to be said; my form lines this season appear way off the mark!

Good luck all, enjoy the rest of the week!

Just enjoy it, he's been my favourite horse since Leopardstown in 08 and I'm absolutely delighted that he finally proved he is the superstar he seemed to be that day. No need to be a bad winner about it though.

I think this was a very true race with a good pace set by Overturn.  I don't think Menorah had any excuses and Oscar Whisky ran as expected but Hurricane Fly and Peddlers Cross fought it out in tremendous style.  Hopefully they'll both be back next year and I think we can ignore anything they do formwise from here when thinking about 2012.  This by a fair way will be the best form to go on for next season I reckon.

I willingly add my name to this thread - while 100% happy with Peddlers Cross there is no denying that the best horse won. Halfway up the run-in when I still hoped that PC's proven stamina might snatch victory the fly just pulled a bit more out. Very impressive.

Also my expectations of Cue Card were exposed. Not that he did much wrong, just that he's not quite the superstar I had hoped although heaven knows he still has a lot to offer once switched to fences.

0 for 4 after day 1 which just shows yet again that a sexy AP portfolio is not substitute for winners!

Head clearer this morning Devil  and ready for day 2. Good luck all.

yeah, i was also a Peddlers cross fan and fortunately the e/w money made the pain easier Grin congratulations to Hurricane Fly he jumped well and traveled the best, a deserved winner and well done to connections and those who backed him. Race panned out to give everyone a chance.

Bring on day 2

Fair play dwn, cant win them all, better luck with the rest of the week and i echo Tavaris comment about Solwhit, the only thing that made me angry was people knocking the mighty beast, hopefully he will be fit and well to come over the irish sea with Quevega to take on her and peddlers in the Aintree Hurdle and show what he is made of
