Last year was only bad if you didn't back the winners - it will be the same this year, I promise you

I think it will be a massive bookies year, because understandably people are suffering a knock on effect, in that they've gone right off backing favourites at any price!
Last year, Cue Card would of been 2's on by now as the world and his wife would of been snapping up what in my opinion is still an outstanding price! However this year I think on the whole we're trying to be a bit too clever, and it's my concern that the bookies will be cheering come Friday night despite a whole week of victories for the favourites; no one will be on them because they've convinced themselves it's best to take them on with horses they believe fitted last years patterns! Recession Proof 9/1 for the Supreme!? I mean come on FFS; ok he followed the same path as Supreme runner up Get Me Out Of Here, but that horse should be double the price he is now! The fact is that because bookmakers are being allowed to lay 2/1, 9/4 against Cue Card, the rest of the field are at a false price! Cue Card should be 1/2 and it should be 8/1 bar. |

Don't worry the smart money will come for CC tomorrow with an SP of 6/4 or less. And yes Recession Proof has come one step too far and will be a place lay for me. Totesport was an awful race. Nice weight in the County Hurdle but of course connections just can't resist the big one. Just silly. All IMO of course. Best of luck next week.
