Sure he was in the Ryanair market earlier in the week??

Will it be in any other races?

Thanks if you can help...

Big price? I think you could do a lot worse in that race! Still open to much improvement, goes well fresh, wouldn't be without a chance...!

Not sure; possibly! So many of them do these days it's hard to keep track! I'll look into that, could bring out further improvement still! Interests me, he really does!

Think he's running in wrong race - surely won't stay on evidence at Newbury ?
Pocket adds would have had excellent chance in Ryanair

I don't think he was right at Newbury, I don't think he should finish that far behind Diamond Harry off level weights, something must of been wrong!

The Hennessey is impossible to properly assess anyway; Pandorama pulled up then went on to land the Lexus! I mean if you're drawing straight lines of form that couldn't of happened!

Trainer says horse hated the ground at Newbury, will improve for the better ground at cheltenham, Horse ran well at Carlisle but finished distressed at Carlisle, required oxygen, he went to Newbury and suffered a paralysed Larynx which meant breathing was a big issue for him, he still finished 8th.

The horse then had a breathing operation, the trainer says he runs well fresh, how on earth people doubt he will stay when he is 2-2 over 3m at Cheltenham.

33/1 on the day and i shall be backing

Great post Crewebish; I will be backing too. This year's Gold Cup is wide open...Imperial Commander is apparently still not pleasing everyone at home, Long Run there's doubts about the course, Kauto Star on good ground is a threat, but I think it's easier to make a case against rather than for, same with Denman, Kempes will improve for good ground but the form of his Irish Hennessey win is very weak, Midnight Chase isn't good enough, Pandorama needs it bottomless, Tidal Bay's chance depends on the mood he's in...in short, im not sure there's a lot to beat, Weird Al is a huge price! He was 8/1 4th or 5th favourite for the RSA last year and that's proving to be the hottest novice race in decades! He's obviously classy, goes well fresh, loves the track, will stay the trip, and should be half the price!

Sorry, 8/1 4th or 5th favourite for the RSA last year before being withdrawn I mean.

Cheers crewbish, saved me looking for the wind op info. Could arguably have won the RSA last season, obviously not right this season so wind op could help. Better ground looking likely and i wouldnt rule him out of the gold cup

I agree with a lot of what dwm767 says below re main protagonists. And I really like Weird Al as a fresh ingredient to the race. He'll need to improve his jumping for better ground (which to be fair he's never really had over fences). Just got a nagging doubt about him getting outpaced in his first Novice Chase at Cheltenham, before staying on really strongly. I  very much expect most of the soft in good to soft to have gone in the going description by 3.20 on Friday. I know his trainer says he wants better ground, and plenty of the rest won't want it to dry out (Long Run, Denman, Imperial Commander, Pandorama etc) - but sometimes you just can't shake an impression you get of a horse. Still, I suppose at the price you don't expect them to be bombproof !
