....if it was allowed to get 3lb from the field? I'd have it at about 200s. For all Peddler's fans out there, your horse beat it 'all out' by about that amount last year.

Granted it will have improved in the meantime, although being ridden right out to beat an autumn Binocular and receiving a
couple of smacks to beat Bygones of Slow hardly suggest massive improvement.

I've already got my lays in but treat yourself to a very early Christmas pressie.

Previous RSA/Neptune Hurdle Results:

Istabraq (Hurdle OR 174) beat Mighty Moss (Hurdle rating 155) a length
Hardy Eustace beat Coolnagorna and Pizzaro under 2 lengths.

Mighty Moss, Coolnagorna and Pizzaro have one thing in common. They won't have a hope in any of the last 100 runnings of the Champion Hurdle.

Istebraq was exceptional and you could identify quite easily from its style that it had the pace for top 2m races. Hardy had the heart of a lion; Peddler's may have too. It certainly hasn't demonstrated the pace for top 2m races though. Good luck to those that are continuing to back it, with a bit of fortune it may contract again in price and I'll be able to help myself to a bit more.

Peddlers Cross made hard work of it  because he isn't fully effective at 2m 5f hes a 2 mile horse he won the
race on class and guts . Istabraq did the same when he won it and ended up being no where near as effective
at distances beyond 2 miles. On face value the form with Reve looks weak but if he doesn't stay and still
won it shows how much class hes got. If Reve was in the race i'd have him at 999-1, the horse seems to have
lost the plot.

Hardy Eustace looked slow and could have run in the Coral Cup off 150 the first year he won the Champion Hurdle (2004). Have your opinion but don't use Reve De Sivola as the only basis for dismissing the horse. He is unbeaten in 8 starts and that you cannot dismiss lightly.

PC demonstrated he has got the pace when beating 2 of the speediest 2 milers around in starluck and binoculer in a bit of  a sprint on a flat track. If he gets beat it won't be for lack of pace.
I'd be very careful about laying him; to me he's the best bet flat or jumps i've seen for 2-3 years
and i'll be having a few hundred on him which is a big bet for me these days.

Tinkler, I'm not keen on the form when it beat Binocular back then, beating Binocular now and I'd take my hat off. PC just smacks of a horse that will fall a fair bit short for me when racing against top class (over 2m at least). All about opinions and good luck with your bet but I can't have it in the first 3.

Fair enough , its all about opinions. If he doesn't win I hope he's unplaced and you get your Christmas
pressie. I'm backing him win only , enough to buy a caravan.

What price would you make Rite Of Passage BG?

I'd make him about 100s. The fact he won a GC bares no relevance to what he could do over hurdles; I think it better highlights that more hurdlers should be given more consideration for classy flat races.

I fully accept I've probably lost the plot also but I half fancy Reve for the Andy Stewart!

peddlers didn't win it on guts because he's a 2c miler....he won it on stamina because he's a stayer...turning in peddlers was tapped for toe a little but then the stamina kicked in....as for reve...if they had gone around another couple of times, his stamina would have kicked in.

A staying horse ain't going  to beat Starluck and Binoculer in a newbury sprint. Peddlers did easily.

In fairness Tinkler. It is the close up finish of Starluck, and its finish in comparison to Binocular, which holds the form back. Clearly an inform Binocular finishes streets ahead of Starluck; and therefore streets ahead of Peddler's. Peddler's will have his day, it will be in about 2 years time carrying about 10st 6lb into a place in the Hennessey.
