With the exception of Big Zeb they look to have very little chance of winning any of the 4 big races.
I don't follow Irish racing much , but if there lack of quality at the top end has filtered down they
could be in for a lean time. Have the english plundered all their beat horses or are the training methods
outdated over their(think thats unlikely). The festival needs a strong Irish challenge but doesn't seem
to be there this year.

Oh dear! I wonder who will bite.

I think there will be some decent priced Irish winners, potentially in the most prestigious races too. As far as the big 4 go I think horses like Kempes, Pandorama, Sizing Europe, Captain Cee Bee, Golden Silver and Dunguib to name but a few. All have really solid chances and are over priced and under rated.

If Dunguib wins I will show my @rse to the world through my front window. It is a horse who shows just how overrated the Irish horses are.

Aussi last year I'd agree with you about Dunguib being overrated. But things change, he was staying on and got very close to Menorah last year in the supreme. The race turned into a sprint off a slow pace which was against him, as was the way the jockey had him widest of all for the whole trip (I don't blame the jock for this as I think it was instructions). Dunguib is not overrated now, people if anything are underrating him because he was over hyped for last years supreme. If you take Dunguib's running in last years supreme at face value and then add the fact that the pace should be a lot stronger in this years CH then Dunguib looks a value bet compared with Menorah IMO.

Dungib can safely be discounted on class grounds.

Don,t think that the Irish will have a great festival, maybe 4-5 winners do however think Willie Mullins could well be top trainer with quevaga,so young, call the police, final approach hurricane fly being well fancied also chances with golden silver, quel esprit, zaidpour and of course the bumper as well as others.

I intially thought the Irish would have a poor year as well. I discounted them on the basis of the harsh recession and loss of most of the big syndicates and the fall in big yards like Noel Meade.

However when I went through each race, there is big chances to be had in most races

WHich races will they be disappointed not to win?

I think they will def win Neptunes Novice Hurlde, Cross Country(Maljimar only danger), Mares Hurdle

They have fantastic chances also in bumper, Queen Mother, Champion Hurdle, Coral Cup, County Hurdle, 4 miler,

Thats potentially 9 winners & of course there will be a few surprises(Fiveforthree?)

I can see 6 winners or more

Shaggy and firstime you obviously think willie will have a few, 6/1 top trainer(7/1 bet 365)win or lose I can,t see how he ,s that price and thought he would be around 3/1. 3 winners was good enough to be top trainer in 2008.

The irish trainers seem to be able to produce their horses at a peak whether they've had numerous runs
this year or after a long absence. The english horses that haven't run for most of the jumps season haven't
produced (cue card, menorah, time for rupert). None of this bodes well for horses like Imperial commander
or Denman.

Suffice to say that's the Irish to have 8 or more winners at the bet landed Cool Can't believe I didn't add some 9 or more @ 13/2 Cry

Can't be too greedy can we, given my First Lieutenant and Sizing Europe Double was what? 120/1 Blush

So will we break our record of 10 winners? We do have a weaker hand in the next 2 days.

My mate got enhanced odds of 10/1 on Mullins at a preview in Leopardstown last week. Excellent bet.

I'm annoyed with myself for not backing him. Didn't check out his complete runners until the price collapsed.

mind boggles as to how many Mullins will win at Punchestown this year.

Probably got plenty more at home to go there too.

Mullins is a top trainer. I get quite angry when English people bad mouth our horses and trainers. Think respect is due now.
