By:

By:
More likely!!
By:
Not a hope.
If the rain doesn't arrive he'll water, good to soft Tue and Wed, possible good Thur then a drop more rain Thur night/Fri turning it good to soft again for Friday. No way will there be any 'firm' in the going |
By:
By 3rd race wednesday ground will be described as FIRM with no good to firm/good/soft in the description
By:
official going will be good to soft for the 4 days but the actual going will be good to firm for the 4 days
By:
where's this info coming from please ?
we are getting good to soft today and likely to be watered if firmer irish times |

Should have been watering gently from last weekend to give it time to be absorbed rather than sploshing a load on this weekend. It would have helped the grass growth nicely as well with the nice sunny weather we had this week.
They need to stop listening to John Kettley and employ me as their long range weather / ground expert - could have told him the exact scenario 2-3 weeks ago. |

4 ml of water is going on the old course today

Local radio weather forecast this morning for significant rainfall overnight Saturday into Sunday.
By:
According to the BBC weather website forecast for Cheltenham it should be raining right now. Then a bit more Staurday night / Sunday morning.
But Metcheck says no rain at all during this period, Theweatheroutlook says no rain until Tuesday but then rain everyday of the festival, and Netweather says bits and pieces from today to Monday then some more on Tuesday and Wednesday. |
By:
We will have to wait until the Supreme as usual, so many various forecasts that are conflicting
By:
It's always faster than official going. That's why festival form is so valuable, as they're proven on the ground where as all the recent form will be on softer. In my opinion.

Clayers has it right - I was talking about the real Going not the PC piffle issued by the Claisse/Kettley axis.

No rain today. Breezy and suny at the moment. Bit of rain forecast for Saturday, maybe more Sunday. Local forecast is for temperatures to climb midweek next week - possible mid-teens. If it is sunny/windy, the track will dry out quickly under these conditions.

By:
Mr Claisse seems to have misplaced the going stick

By:
Watering this evening 3mm. sure he's done 2x4mm on the old course this week and 1x7mm on the new course
By:
He needs to gets some on the cross country course, that was showing good to firm places yesterday
By:
he will water and if it rains on day on watered ground (like Day 1 2008) it can go soft very quickly. As usual the time of the Supreme Novice Hurdle will tell us the real going
