CHELTENHAM clerk of the course Simon Claisse on Saturday said he would take little notice of the the long-range weather forecasts for the festival, one of which was predicting snow on the eve of the meeting.
According to Saturday's 16-day forecast by Weatheroutlook.com, snow could fall at the course next Wednesday and again on the Sunday and Monday before the meeting. In Claisse's forecasts provided by former BBC weatherman John Kettley there has been no mention of snow.
"John Kettley has given me a forecast that goes beyond his normal seven days but I am not taking a huge amount of notice of it," he said. "He wasn't predicting snow anyway. Even if it is forecasting that, there is nothing I can do.
"The positive thing is that we are ready to race. Preparations will be complete tomorrow in terms of mowing. If snow comes, it comes."
The forecast Claisse has received predicts daytime temperatures of 7C to 9C, some overnight frosts and possible rain towards the end of the week, while the going remains soft, good to soft in places, although those conditions may be changed after Monday.
Claisse added: "I am not changing the going today but I probably will tomorrow. The balance is soft rather than good to soft but another dry day it will go the other way."

I'd say the chances of snow are minimal to zero.
I've just done a couple of 10 day forecasts and neither say anything about snow - where Claisse has a dilema is that it's predicted to be dry for the next week then showers Sat/Sun/Mon, dos he take a chance the shower arrive and risk quick ground or does he water and if it does the ground could be soft ?
I wish the forecast was for a deluge then I'd get value on the distance unders...

Yes, now most of the ante post betting is done, it is time to start stressing about the weather and the ground conditions
^ They wanted to give him the job of looking after the Oxford v Cambridge Boat Race course but they were afraid he'd flood London. 
metcheck long range forecast (8-14 days) is pretty dry, sunny and cool (5 to 7 degrees).
Metcheck shows that we may get a couple of light showers Sunday & Monday to take the sting out of the ground - but the forecast is a constant bright and sunny (7-9 degrees) for the whole racing week of the festival!

Snow lol - Big Bucks don't mind what the conditions are, here will win no matter what!

It might see the odd snow shower during the night as temps dip to around zero degrees but it wont matter as it will be 8C come the first race...
