I can't imagine how Tranquil Sea will get it's ground.

Poquelin is a top-rate handicapper. Tranquil won a G1 as a noivce. Should smash him again imo

Won the Grade 1 Durkan as well, probably the most innately talented horse in the race, handles the track well. The ground and how he is are the imponderables.

He's a good horse but a fair way behind Poquelin on the ratings and needs soft ground. I thought Poquelin was pretty solid in this if the ground comes up good and rested sine winning in December off 163.

I backed Poq last year, but theres just something about him when he steps into graded company. I thought he dogged it against Monets at Aintree where I also backed him. I just think something might do him.

TS won his mdn & a G1 nov hurdle on Good gnd.
5 runs on Good, 2 wins - other 3 runs include down the field in the Ryanair last yr - ran too close(18 days) to the festival. Then nto when first try over 3miles in G1 Punchestown GC.
Record when fresh last 2 seasons = 1,1,1,1,1.

Neill D, I tended to agree previously but thought he was so impressive last time that I'd have to be with him for this. At Aintree I think he wasn't at his best after a tough race in last year's Ryanair.

Ya could be, you don't win a 2m5 December handicap at Chelts off top weight (claimer) if you haven't got plenty of class. If he was a point or two bigger he'd be great each way. They really fancied him last year though. I don't know, I suppose it wouldn't surprise me if he won, especially with good ground which would hinder a few of the others.

If Albertas Run goes for the Gold Cup, he's well clear on ratings but does have to prove he can win at the festival. On the plus side, he's only 8 so the right age to win his first Grade 1.

yer talkin me round, I'm probably just upset I missed the 16's at chelts in December, I'd say its one of the few races I haven't backed him in. For what its worth he travelled great last year and I was sure he was gonna win till the turn in, good ground, a more seasoned horse, Ruby on board, why not.

I know what you mean, I've settled for 9-2 with Hills but don't think it's a bad price. He is rated 170 and well clear.

Good price, good horse, if he runs to that he'll win and why shouldn't he? Best of luck with it I might follow you in but cash is tight so it might be on the day at a reduced price.

We had all this about Tranquil Sea's ground last year. O'Grady is quoted many times in the build up last year as saying Tranquil Sea is a better horse on better ground.

Poquelin gets beat by at least two runners in the Ryanair.

Backed Tranquil Sea a while a go think he will go close if at his best, but think Riverside Theatre has usurped him in my view. Poquelin won't be far away but think he'll find at least one too good

Looking forward to (hopefully) seeing Tranquil Sea prove yet again that he does not need soft ground.
