Think I've only backed one winner of the Supreme (Brave Inca)
.Probably the Champion Hurdle for me, although I'm on a hot streak in the County having backed the last 3 winners . |
By:
ive yet to back a champion hurdle winner king
(6 years trying)ive had captain cee bee,go native and menorah in the last 3 years,(be doing well to keep it going this year)looks a tough race to call imo, county is a nightmare, fair play though,3 in a row in a fiercely competitive handicap is impressive.and last 2 been big prices too |
By:
Three years ago, Silver Jaro, was the best price; last race of the festival and just about got me level for the four days. More luck than judgement, I usually throw 3 or 4 arrers at it and they've managed to hit recently.
What's your fancy for the Supreme this year? |
By:
champion chase i think, usually not the hardest race to work out. who will be the first to say the grand annual or some handicap with loads of runners
next to impossible to keep pickin winners of the grand annual![]() |

Champion Hurdle. I actually have done well over the years in the big 4 races but not so good in others.
By:
Supreme for me aswell but i'll refrain from after timing!!
By:
Let it all out Goretski, it's hard to engage in a thread like this without doing so!
By:
3 of the last 7 winners, couple of seconds aswell but Amaretto Rose thought me a lesson about backing shorties in the supreme!
By:
lol, havent decided yet king, leaning towards zaidpour if the ground is good,i know im mad

Yep tell me about it, I did a fair bit in on Dunguib last year - and yet I can't get away from Cue Card this year
probably explains my abysmal record in the race! |
By:
interesting evra, Mullins very keen apparently.

The 50 metre post 8 pints guiness to the bog race just b4 the Gold Cup starts. Not p1ssed myself once, although have been buttock clenchingly close on several occassions!

By:
ye so ive heard king, interesting what rubys thoughts were re the supreme too, saying how he thinks its usually speed horses who win this,ex flat speed horses,he fancies recession proff, reckons he's "bombproof" couldnt have him myself though

Numerically the Sun Alliance Hurdle, for profit the Mildmay of Flete, had Great Endeavour @ 28/1, Idole First 16/1, Something Wells 33/1, Tikram 16/1 and add in the likes of Super Coin, Majadou, Kadi & Elfast it has made it a very good race for me over the last 20 years

^ given your record in this race I presume you have backed For Non Stop?
![]() |
By:
He is on Qaspal, Shalone or Radium.
By:
Am I missing something with For Non Stop ? I thought he needed about 30 to pull out for him to get a run...
By:
Triumph in 90s, Supreme and County more recently
By:
horse9, loads of horses above him with multiple entries and undoubtedly alternative targets, I don't think there's any worry of him getting in
By:
OK - cheers Far, got to be a small concern for AP backers though ?
By:
Don't see why. If he gets balloted out its money back anyway
By:
'^ given your record in this race I presume you have backed For Non Stop?'

Champion Hurdle always has been and always will be my favourite race and despite having more losing festivals than I care to remember
Winners to date:- Magic Court, Salmon Spray, Persian War(3) Bula (2), Comedy Of Errors, Gay Brief, Monksfield, Sea Pigeon, Dawn Run, See You Then (2) Flakey Dove, Kribensis, Celtic Shot and Istabraq (3). The race lacked real class IMVHO from 2002 until and including the worst CH (Sublimity) of all time in 2007 so I never had a bet in any of them. Bounced back with Katchit and last year my biggest win to date come on Binocular. Despite that, this year have no hesitation in backing Hurricane Fly. This horse has everything you could ever wish for in a Champion Hurdler and is a league above them all. |
By:
Some great names in there, Rondetto. Hope you're on the right one again this year (my only bet in the race)!
By:
how hurricane a league above??? did i miss something even if it wins you couldnt claim that even with hindsight!
