Nightmare stuff for Nick Williams.
Report Masterminded March 4, 2011 6:22 PM GMT
Thats the problem with sacrificing most of the season for one race. Unlucky but stupid.
Report Dan Chipowski March 4, 2011 6:26 PM GMT
I think Nick Williams might even agree with you MM.
Report revedesivola March 4, 2011 6:26 PM GMT
i dont see how he went lame from a lack of racing
Report Masterminded March 4, 2011 6:28 PM GMT
That is not what I'm saying Reve.. you have misunderstood.
Report Graeme83 March 4, 2011 6:29 PM GMT
Does this ruin accumulators as well as singles with Harry involved ?
Report revedesivola March 4, 2011 6:29 PM GMT
true enough my bad. oh well, theres always aintree
Report Stake & Chips March 4, 2011 6:30 PM GMT
^^If you backed with Laddies you are probably ok as they have been NRNB for ages on GC.

Thanks anyway. It wasn't with them unfortunately. Fair few quid up in the air.
Report marvinho March 4, 2011 6:43 PM GMT
Gutted, in my annual festival accumulator!

Also gutted for connections, a fantastic training performance to win the Hennessy the way he did but I echo Masterminded's sentiments that this is the risk if you put a horse away for the season.  Nick Williams even said recently that he should have run him whilst he was in form back in December and that he wasn't sparkling at present.
Report revedesivola March 4, 2011 6:58 PM GMT
marv, lesson learnt for next year and his next gold cup horseSilly tis a shame but thats horseracing. totesport bowl looks the next port of call id say, that or the punchestown gold cup
Report revedesivola March 4, 2011 7:07 PM GMT
maybe not then, out for 3 to 4 months
Report booster March 4, 2011 7:09 PM GMT
Could still win the Hennessy off his mark. Only 1833 to beat from what I've seen this year.
Report unclepuncle March 4, 2011 7:10 PM GMT
Back for another go at the Hennessey seems most sensible - still well enough handicapped (especially if he really would have gone close in the Gold Cup), and he loves the track.
Report revedesivola March 4, 2011 7:13 PM GMT
not a bad idea, saying that its not easy. impossible to predict where to go. i thought this year hed go to the betfair chase
Report Masterminded March 4, 2011 7:18 PM GMT
Have to say I think it's a real shame that a smallish set up like Nick Williams has not been able to run his star in the Gold Cup. I think he has been pretty unlucky in it all.
Report revedesivola March 4, 2011 7:26 PM GMT
thats racing i suppose. they lost the very promising me voici not too long ago either. oh well, i anticipate many gold cup runners from him to come
Report marvinho March 4, 2011 7:32 PM GMT
I would think the betfair chase would be the race for him too and given his preferance for soft ground, perhaps the Irish races would be worth going for.

The stable have still got a few other hopes so fingers crossed they get some small consolation from Maljimar, ForNonStop, Gauvain or even Reve himself!
Report revedesivola March 4, 2011 7:45 PM GMT
id be a little sceptical about reve myself but noel fehily who is daryl jacobs best friend tipped him recently as his best bet of the festival! hopefully alfie spinner will go well too
Report RozelKid March 4, 2011 7:57 PM GMT
i hope you have done your bollocks in Reve, haaaaaaa,  Harry was in no way good enough..thats why the horse is not taking part!

if he was then williams would have made sure he was there...you are just making excuses now because youve been ramping this horse for the last 2 months.

you probably hadnt even had a penny on it anyway!
Report revedesivola March 4, 2011 8:01 PM GMT
and all because in my opinion tiday bay is ungenuine. enough said, im not going to go there
Report RozelKid March 4, 2011 8:07 PM GMT
nothing to do with tidal, i told you but you didnt listen, Diamond Harry is not good enough for a Gold Cup..IT HASNT GOT THE CLASS!

MORE FOOL MUGS WHO KNOW NOTHING ABOUT RATING A HORSE!
Report revedesivola March 4, 2011 8:09 PM GMT
a class horse! youre joking. class horses doesnt need his ears rubbed to pick up the bitLaugh 10 out of ten for effort though
Report buddeliea March 4, 2011 8:12 PM GMT
i never thought he would win either, but really is their any need for these sort of comments??
Report revedesivola March 4, 2011 8:14 PM GMT
nobody can say for definate whether he would or wouldnt until he actually races, and the same goes for tidal bay. its only my opinion that tiday bay is ungenuine, its perfectly reasonable of you not to take any notice of my comments
Report booster March 4, 2011 8:32 PM GMT
The most ridiculous comments I've heard for a while. Any horse that travels to the last in the Hennessy on the bridle doesn't have class issues no matter what weight he was carrying. The horse was awesome that day and we'll not know for another 12 months whether he's good enough but I think he is.
Report zilzal1 March 4, 2011 8:35 PM GMT
No need for comments like that mate, its not as if we personally own the animals. Its getting to a new level of anger on here with each passing year
Report GI MAC March 4, 2011 8:43 PM GMT
It's irrelevant whether DH would have or wouldn't have been good enough.

If you have backed the horse anti-post for the gold cup then you have my sympathies, personally there is nothing worse than having an anti-post punt on a horse and not even get a run for your money. No actually there is something worse and thats some turd bucket rubbing it in.
Report rogerthebutler March 4, 2011 10:36 PM GMT
To think there are grown adults in this world who burn lean brain tissue, posting malicious cr@p revelling in the fact that a horse is ruled out of the best race of the year.

Sometimes we really do blow it spectacularly as a species.
Report festivalfanatic March 4, 2011 10:48 PM GMT
Sad news but probably not a disaster for connections. He simply isn't a Cheltenham horse.
Report revedesivola March 4, 2011 10:54 PM GMT
connections think hed handle it and that hes more of a cheltenham horse than a 5 race per season horse. hes handled cheltenham before, just not when hes had too many runs before in that season
Report festivalfanatic March 4, 2011 11:01 PM GMT
If I recall correctly...'cos I was there at the time....he struggled to beat Bensalem at level weights in a novice hurdle, came a respectable 3rd in the 2/5  novice hurdle at the Festival and jumped like a dog in the RSA last year.
Report revedesivola March 4, 2011 11:10 PM GMT
i dont understand what the above post is meant to mean but i think connections are much more in a position to decide whether he will or not because they know much more about the horse and his characteristics than anyone else. if the trainer thinks hes going to handle cheltenham than i dont question it
Report RozelKid March 4, 2011 11:26 PM GMT
booster you twot, i said it doesnt have the class to win the chel gold cup.

and to the posters who think im revelling in a horse that couldnt ever possibly win a gold cup having a day out at cheltenham are mistaken.

I'm simply and have had messages with reve in the last week fortnight telling him that Harry couldnt ever win a GC to which he strongly disagreed, sorry if you think im being a **** but im simply warning people not to listen to this twot reve as he doesnt have a clue about ratings or the race in hand.

eh Reve....come onnnnnnn  Tidal Bay was 18s on betfair 15mins ago,Victor Chandler go 16s,  small pennies available now at 21/1 now on betfair, not bad for an ungenuine horse ehLaugh[;)]
Report RozelKid March 4, 2011 11:28 PM GMT
at this point , it seems its better to be ungenuine than just a plainly outclassed like Harry...what you think? i've gotta hear this
Report duffy March 4, 2011 11:34 PM GMT
very unlucky for all concerned...still they've had their fair share of luck too this season already...firstly when pandorama ballsed up and secondly when burton port made a mistake late on which cost him 4/5 lengths, in the hennessy Mischief
Report revedesivola March 4, 2011 11:37 PM GMT
no, class is better than being ungenuine, i think youre on your own there. theres not many that will argue any different. so what you really mean is its better to be running than not which is of course correct but essentially means neither the non runner or the ungenuine horse will win.I'm simply and have had messages with reve in the last week fortnight telling him that Harry couldnt ever win a GC to which he strongly disagreed please copy and paste the conversation or post a link. this will be difficult because the only conversation had was me suggesting tidal bay is ungenuine and you becoming offended etc.
Report revedesivola March 4, 2011 11:39 PM GMT
Laugh duffy, geraghty said hed have needed a minimum of six lengths more to het past diamond harry on the run in, you may scratch bp off the list. saying that, if the ground has any cut in it i think pandorama will go very well
Report RozelKid March 4, 2011 11:40 PM GMT
come on Reve, hurry up , whilst we are waiting for your misguided response i thought id paste one of your questions below with a very quick and simply answer:

Reve quote  "if the trainer thinks hes going to handle cheltenham than i dont question it  "  THATS BECAUSE YOUR A MUG " QUESTION EVERYTHING!
Report revedesivola March 4, 2011 11:43 PM GMT
to which he strongly disagreed is that a strong disagreement? copy the whole conversation i had with you, no point giving us answers and not giving questions. oh yes, thats right, that wasnt said to you was it?????????
Report revedesivola March 4, 2011 11:45 PM GMT
no point telling me to hurry up either, youll notice i posted twice while you were writing that two liner there
Report RozelKid March 4, 2011 11:57 PM GMT
mmm, you saying that a horse that hammered time for rupert last year in the cleev hurdle has no class.

Are you also saying that a horse that wins an Arkle by 10 lenghts or so has no class.

I think we have a typical case here of you reading the papers too much...haaaa, and you not really having an idea of what you are talking about.

Its a classic case of hook line and sinker and all this talk about Tidal being ungenuine is completley false....you are just repeating what the media tell you , the same media who told you binocular was injured before the  champion hurdle last year, the same media who tried their best to tell punters not to back wigmore hall in Dubai yesterday.

Point here Reve is that you dont have enough experience in the business of horseracing, so please do the novice punters a favour and keep your rampings to yourself..because trust me ...they are misguided!
Report revedesivola March 5, 2011 12:01 AM GMT
i take it youre ignoring my last two posts on account of not being able to accept youre wrong. i will have no problems accepting im wrong if tiday bay wins the gold cup, none at all. this has all turned pretty petty really all because of my opinion hes ungenuine. i havent heard the media calling him ungenuine either, please post links to articles or videos where he is said to be

Report RozelKid March 5, 2011 12:26 AM GMT
getting bored now , you asking to paste links now is crazy, everyone knows the image that the media have given the horse so stop typing rubbish to ask me to point out otherwise.

just watch the videos on youtube of its last races and listen to the commentators saying in other words that the horse is a rogue and a fustrating horse, now in other words thats exactly what they are saying!

Anyway, just to finish this roasting of the Reve, are you going to admit that the Diamond Harry never had or never will have the class to win a Gold Cup, seeing as what this thread and many other misguided posts that youve been banging on these forums for the last 2 months.

ah sod this , whats the point!
Report revedesivola March 5, 2011 12:29 AM GMT
following 15 minutes of searchig, no evidence of the horse being called ungenuine was found. surprise surprise. the last line however is sense
Report booster March 5, 2011 6:52 AM GMT
Absolutely childish argument re Diamond Harry. I don't think any of the jockeys in the Hennessy or Fixed Brush Final at Haydock would ever doubt his class, his record speaks for itself and the argument about Burton Port making a mistake in the Hennessy comes from someone who can't race read. Diamond Harry was travelling so strongly on the bridle that Burton Point was under strong pressure to try and keep up over a distance probably too sharp for him, hence the mistake.

Tidal Bay is a great old warrior, he's what makes us all love National Hunt, but I would say he takes the piss. I'd still love to see him run well in a Gold Cup and this could even be his year.

The Gold Cup is the race we all want to see and it's poorer without Diamond Harry and Burton Port. Let's hope we don't lose any more in the next 12 days.
Report buddeliea March 5, 2011 7:20 AM GMT
every non runner makes the festival less of a showpiece, especially the more fancied horses, and none of us want that,do we?

say what you want about DH,and i have said i did not think he would win,but the fact remains he was a very intriguing part of the race, and the race will be poorer for his absence,no doubt.
Report RozelKid March 5, 2011 9:12 AM GMT
Read the messages properly Booster, i said that Diamond Harry doesnt have any class to win a Gold Cup, ffs cant you read?

Ok the horse has some level of class but im stating the obvious and telling you that the horse at level weights has no position at due to the lack of the class needed at cheltenham  gold cup trip.

please tell me where the childish statement, ffs, it it the case that you just posted to disagree, agghhhhhhhhhhhh!, or is it because you have done your bollocks in after backing it since its hennnesey win?...probably both lolLaughLaughLaugh have a nice day[;)]
Report booster March 5, 2011 2:48 PM GMT
Grow up, baby. Not had a penny on but did have a couple of nice holidays on his Hennessy winnings as I did when he won at haydock previously. You obviously don't have a clue about racing and all your statements laughing about a horse getting injured are childish.

I'd recommend Florida by the way. see if your mummy will take you to see Mickey Mouse as I did my 3 kids thanks to Diamond Harry.

I don't need you to tell me what class he has, I've seen it with my own eyes.
Report n6 March 5, 2011 3:19 PM GMT
