Willie said Neptune likely 2 days ago. Surely that is where he'll end up given Zaidpour in the Supreme. See my thread further down on here.
By:
Agree with OP value NRNB imo
By:
I think So Young is flying at home and they think he has a stonking chance in the Neptune, where as Zaidpour isnt as strongly fancied in a competitive Supreme and imo they'll probably run the 2 in the supreme probably paul townend on Day of a lifetime and Ruby on Zaidpour if he turns down Al Ferof which im guessing he will.
By:
Willie Mullins is qouted in The Weekender as saying that it`s likely that Zaidpour will go for The Supreme and that he is possibly his best chance of the week, now as he has Quevega in The David Nicholson who is a near certainty, i think that they think he is a lot better than those last two runs.
By:
How can he say it's his best chance baffled :s
By:
Well Townend dont fancy it and Patrick dont fancy it so [smiley:crazy]

Naas Cheltenham preview-
Davy Russell and Paul Townend very keen on Day Of A Lifetime, both not keen on Zaidpour. Maynooth preview- The Supreme : PM said that Day of a Lifetime will beat Zaidpour in this and he is definetly worth a nice each way bet though he thinks Cue Card is bombproof (at the same preview night last year he was the only one to say Dunguib would be beaten so his opinion is respected.) |
By:
Just know that i`ll get suckered into backing him after going to the paddock week tuesday[smiley:crazy].
By:
Personally think Zaidpour needs further and will be left behind when outpaced, will be place laying
By:
Also said Quevega has had a few small problems all year, but she is fit and raring to go,surely can`t be beat can she?Personally hoping for a big run from Macville ,but clutching at straws realy.
By:
zaidpour was outpaced over further lto,so,going on that over 2m has no chance.
By:
was he really ZP really outpaced or hating the ground? for me its the latter. there is no way if they thought this didn't have the speed to run they would run it. After all it won't gallop at home on heavy ground and they have enough there to tell them exactly how quick it can be. Just think it's such a red herring to think its been getting outpaced and just staying on.
By:
thing is he managed to stay on in that ground,if he hated it that much would he have been able to do that?
By:
I can understand WM saying Zaidpour is his best chance of a winner. Like me he's looking at Cue Card and knows the things an overrated monkey. Sorry to be so blunt but a lot of people are going to lose a lot of money if they think Cue Card is some sort of good thing.

The highly-rated Day Of A Lifetime, which has the choice of two engagements at the Festival, will take his chance in the Supreme Novices Hurdle for Willie Mullins.
The son of King's Theatre was billed as the main Mullins Champion Bumper hope last season, and is rated as a 20/1 shot for the Festival opener. If you go back to his first ever run, he beat Jessica Harrington's Oscars Well at Fairyhouse. That horse has, of course, gone on to dual Grade One success over hurdles and is the favourite for the Neptune Hurdle on Wednesday |
By:
Zaidpour is definley worth a crack on better ground.
By:
Thanks BKLAD,intersting horse.
By:
Brooks can you post a link to the article please
By:
The occasion got to him last March.
He wears Ear Plugs now. But the negative for me is just one run. Too inexperienced imo. |
By:
Too slow too imo, also if Mullins thinks Zaidpour is his best chance of the festival you'd hardly want to back Day of a Lifetime for this race.
By:
Sint....Fair point, from a stats point of view that would be the negative,on the plus side it was a big field, from memory.Interesting to see who gets the leg up.
By:
Well Townend would ride with Ruby on Zaidpour.
Anyone got the link to the Article, there's no quotes from Mullins. ?? Brooks? |

Day of a Lifetime is a bad traveller, hold all bets until he travels over and you hear good reports. seemingly lost last year because of the trip over. ted walsh said this the other night at a preview. hope this helps.
By:
pricewise really sweet on Al Ferof.
By:
zaidpour needs good ground,
detests soft ground day of a lifetime looks very promising though and would have a great chance whatever race he turns up in |
By:
Mullins comments from the weekender on Zaidpour "I feel there could be reasons for being beaten on his last two runs and I still have faith in him and rate him possibly my best chance of the week"
Trainers pick of the Cheltenham team Zaidpour "If Zaidpour is as good as I think he is then has has to be (my pick)" For these reasons I wouldn't touch Day of a Lifetime in the Supreme. |

By:
Paul townend thinks day of a lifetime has every chance and Davy Russell was impressed when day of a lifetime went zooming past gift o d'gab.
By:
mullins laid out his festival plans in his column in the racing post today 2 go for the supreme zaidpour being 1, 2 go for the neptune so young being 1 and 2 go for the 3 miler gagewell flyer being 1 sorry but those where the ones i was interested in didnt really pay much attention to his ''2nd string''
By:
cheers brooks
By:
"Zaidpour.....Best chance of the week" Thats just what I like to hear from this team.
Mr Townend would be ideal. |
By:
being saved for punchestown i guess? shame...
By:
The right decision. You CANNOT win a Supreme Novice with only one start over hurdles. People calling his a 'dark horse' would do well to remember that every bloody horse in the race is relatively unexposed. Winning a poxy soft ground maiden makes him miles away from the form Cue Card and even Zaidpour have shown.
By:
beat oscars well by 5 1/2 l in a bumper last year this beast has class and mullins said will be better on a faster surface
By:
Zaidpour is the one for me, backed him last week. Might have a saver on Henderson S Son.
By:
still 25/1 4 th neptune get on
By:
not going to chelthenham thank god for n/r no bet
By:
yep money back, was really looking forward to this one :(
By:
Does the Mullins' hype automatically transfer to Zaidpour (Supreme) and So Young )Neptune)or do you operate proportional representation?
