I would have thought it was obvious that Gauvain travelled all over Riverside Theatre et al last time out, but basically didn't stay the trip - Riverside pulled away at the business end. Take out Master Minded and you're lfet with a weakish champion chase. I would have thought this course and distance winner would be far better off taking his chance there, given his cruising speed?

i have 70/1 to very small money . i therefore agree with you . ch. chase not normally a 'surprise' race but with so little top flight racing this season you never know ....

He was miles behind when tackling MM over 2 miles though unless he improves a fair bit on that he wont be placed will he?

Looks a good horse but just short of top class IMO.

Stable were in gash form. His reappearance win was decent, if he can post his usual 166 personal best in the CC he won't be far off.

theyre coming out of the woodwork nowLaugh all those who backed him after the sinbaad. not goin t happen, def goin for ryanair!

Nick Williams was delighted with the performance of Gauvain in second, and said: "We're delighted with that, especially as our two runners came last yesterday.

"He goes well at Cheltenham so we must go for the Ryanair; there's no question about that."

Hey Meadow, the Singapore heat must be getting to you. Guavain hasn't got a scooby in the QM.
