Dear Race Fans

Big Bucks is the best horse is training. He is unbeaten in 10 starts over hurdles in the UK.

People knock him, questioning what he has beaten. He has beaten a top class hurdler in Punchestowns and a future champion in Time For Rupert.

He will beat Grands Crus in two weeks time and what your excuse going to be then?

BIG BUCKS is the real deal, he has the biggest engine in training, without a doubt and will win his third World Hurdle and when he does I will be coming on here to silence the doubters.

I don't doubt that all the above is true and Big Bucks rescued me at Cheltenham when I went all in on him after losing on everything else. Im hoping that scenario doesn't repeat itself.

I have also backed Big Bucks to win by less than 3 and a half lengths at 7/2.

No horse is a superstar when he runs over the same distances, in the same race, against the same old slow horses. Big Bucks is nowhere near the best horse in training. If he's that good run him in a Champion Hurdle or a Gold Cup. Or if you can't do that at least run him over 2m4f for once. But obviously they won't because they know his limitations. I think he'll finally get shown up at Cheltenham this year.

Stotsfold, you are silly. Of course it is. Distance doesnt matter or make you a superstar. I am a superstar and I only run 400m
By:
Stotsfold
When: 01 Mar 11 16:28
Superstar is a word thrown about far too much. It is possible to be a superstar without running over loads of different trips but it is rare.Arkle, Dessie, Kauto: superstars. Denman: not quite. Imperial Commander: not quite. Even though the last two have achieved equivalent levels of form to Kauto they can't be rated his equal. Big Bucks beating Lough Derg and Karabak etc. over and over and only ever running in the same 3m hurdle races against G2 horses - SUPERSTAR? Now that is silly

ah more words of wisdom from the shy and retiring mayweather ,hes king of the forum you know ..but hes entitled to his opinion and he adds a bit of colour to the forum ,good luck with your bets ,

Deary me. You seem like a very angry person bigbucksanders.

They don't HAVE to run Big Bucks in the Champion Hurdle or the Gold Cup. But to call him a superstar for beating the same G2 horses in the same weak races year after year, and being kept to only 4 races, hardly makes him a SUPERSTAR now does it. People get very excited by 11111111111 in the form book. Doesn't really do it for me without considering the context. He's a very good horse but, until he proves otherwise, a very one dimensional horse.

I guess I'd like him to do at least one of the following;

Drop back in trip at a high level in the UK, maybe the AIntree Hurdle instead of the 3 miler or
Run in next seasons Hattons Grace against Hurricane Fly and Solwhit etc. or
Clock a fast time for the first time in his life or
Display a turn of foot for the first time in his life or
Win a Hennessy or a Gold Cup

Any of those would do but I'm not sure he's capable of doing any of them. Beating Grade 2 and Grade 3 horses by a few lengths time after time just doesn't do it for me. Sorry if that offends you.

think big bucks is going to have his biggest test in this years world hurdle , he is meeting some classy types in grans crus ,mourad and if he takes the world hurdle route ashkazar ,solwhit ect,

these are imo capable of testing big bucks who has not met this class of opponent ,he may well win but this is a far stiffer test than the 2 previous years ,if he hits a flat spot, aginst horses of this calibre he may  well have to be a superstar to make the ground up.

i have posted my opinions on this race on my .grans crus ,big bucks  a 2 horse race thread.

Stotsfold is correct imo, needs to do more to be labelled a superstar.
Hes a damn good 3m hurdler, but thats it.
By:

When: 01 Mar 11 19:33
Stotsfold, Big Buck's certainly isn't lacking a turn of foot
By:
buddeliea
When: 01 Mar 11 19:46
If a horse CAN be labelled a superstar then he has to achive something along the lines of what Kauto Star has imo.Win top races against all the top horses around over varying distances over a period of a few years.
Big Bucks has to do a lot more to compare, and probably,no,almost certainly,he wont.
Hes already a failed chaser.
By:

When: 01 Mar 11 19:47
It's just the lack of opposition (largely due to Big Buck's beating them) and the lower prestige as compared to the likes of the Gold Cup. That said, he's making the Stewart family a fortune so no reason to change yet in their eyes

For what it's worth he's a spectacular horse who's talent is being slightly wasted in beating far inferior horses over staying hurdle trips. Whatever they say about the likes of Baracouda/Inglis Drever etc, Stayers Hurdles winners are never held in the same regard as Gold Cup winners, as good as they may be.

I think we'll see him over fences again soon enough
By:

When: 01 Mar 11 20:34
Actually bbs the plan is very much to go back over fences next season, they have just been waiting for kauto and denman to age and retire, has been schooled over fences a number of times at home this season and has jumped much better.
very very serious horse with the biggest engine in racing as mayweather says and all the knockers could easily see him winning 1,2 or 3 gold cups in the next few years

reading nichols quotes some time ago ...i would be bit worried by your big 6/4 bets on big bucks

..def andy stewart dont want to go over fences ....HOWEVER NICHOLS DEF DOES .....

... nichols says he will only go over fences if he gets beat in world hurdle ...

...is it possible some part of nichols might want him to get beat and therefore change his training slightly enough to affect outcome to give him excuse to go chasing?????

.. all year i been backing Zaynar in without big bucks market and im quite happy with that as long as barry is on board and cheek pieces back on!! .... solwhit i rate as main danger with big bucks .... dont rate grand crus
