It was won in 1973 by Inkslinger. I don't know if Royal Relief ran?

Inkslinger must have been some horse, won the Cathcart ( over 2 miles in those days ) the day after winning the Champion Chase, last horse to win 2 races at the same festival

A real "anorak" pal of mine has reckons Royal Relief was  second in 1973 at odds of 14/1 ridden by Phillip Blacker.Shocked

Strange price mind, 15/8f when beating Tingle Creek into 2nd in 72 and 6/1 when winning in 74. To be 14/1 he must have had problems that season
