If you've got anything with any pretensions to class, I'd say go for the Arkle. The handicaps may be more difficult to win this year.

Jumped really well at Bangor, apart from the last, and personally i think arepeat of that would see him have a fair chance in the Arkle. His front running could well upset a few if he jumps well.
Lively outsider for sure imo |

Lively ew shout for me. Jumps and has pace. Not the strongest looking Arkle line up........every chance.

Nibbled from 50's to 33's in the last couple of weeks

Has to be winning this afternoon to have any chance though surely

Agreed...and I think it will

Browne's Gazette ... for me this is the strongest looking Arkle line up for years. Any of the first 4 or 5 would make a good fav in an Arkle.
Maybe your view justifies to yourself there is a long priced winner of the race out there when in all likelihood this years race will produce the best winner since Azertyuiop. |
By:
Put it this way Realt Dubh is a dual Grade 1 winner at 2 miles and is only the 4th fav. This years Arkle is extremely hot with a horse Ruby Walsh mentioned could be a great horse in the making, Ghizao, at the head of the market.

Dan Breen far more likely to go for the Grand Annual.Needs this third chase run to get a handicap mark.
By:
If Dan Breen goes well today, the preferred option would be the Arkle. So David said at the Exeter preview evening.

Cheers,OB.

What's people's thoughts now??
By:
Wouldn't fancy him for either myself. Looks more of a flat track horse and would be of interest in the big 2m handicap at Aintree. Don't think he's good enough for the Grade 1's.
By:
The horse not good enough for any race like the Arkle.
By:
Get in there, Dan Breen got beat.

every chance for the arkle, front running decent jumper could cause a surprise.
By:
About 30 years since a front runner won the Arkle.
By:
impressed with his jumping, some of them leaps were the best i have seen from a novice this season. He would need to improve on that run to win the Arkle but that is possible. If he were to run and have things his own way in front i think hes worthy of a place in the line up,and if he jumps like he did today should give a good show.
Live outsider imo |
By:
Carried the other horse right across the track would have been 2nd if Scudamore had changed whip hands to straighten him up.
Finians Rainbow would set a much quicker pace at the front in the Arkle than this one could, very little chance in the Arkle imo. |
By:
With the application of some head gear to light Dan Breen up,it could be interesting. Watch this space. Pretty sure it runs in the Arkle.
By:
I got some 40's for the Arkle. Its got a chance it done alright in the supreme novices last year just bumped into menorah and lost its stride and just died was going great until then, just the stamina of the horse is a doubt but 2m could clinch a place or if everything drops in its favour win it. worth a cheeky fiver e/w haha!!

Dan Breen could not win an Arkle if he was the only horse in the race, no chance! lol Dont listen to Graham Cunningham, he ain't got a clue.
