Agreed. Best jumper and classiest horse in the race. Hopefully she will not get too fizzy at the festival and it will be plain sailing.
Report dwm767 • February 19, 2011 1:17 PM GMT
No chance. Sorry boys.

Oh dear me! Where has this come from!? One notable piece of form, when going well before a fall at Kempton! Seriously!
Report Alvarado • February 19, 2011 2:01 PM GMT
will barry get off grandouet cant see it myself
Report 3132 • February 19, 2011 3:23 PM GMT
Dont think Henderson will run it in the Triumph...certainly didnt seem to want that option after it won last time.
Report Alvarado • February 19, 2011 3:27 PM GMT
he sed already in his rp column amedia defo runs in the truimph
Report dwm767 • February 19, 2011 3:30 PM GMT
Could run in the Gold Cup for all the chance she's got!
Report Alvarado • February 19, 2011 3:32 PM GMT
u layed her at 50s then
Report dwm767 • February 19, 2011 3:49 PM GMT
Sadly the funds to lay at those odds are not at my disposal, however I wouldn't back her at 5 times that price!

It's notoriously one of the roughest races at the Festival, I can't understand where this new found confidence from everyone has materialised from!?

For me, Local Hero has all the attributes needed to claim the race.
Report Alvarado • February 19, 2011 4:17 PM GMT
are u fishing boy

local hero was just tailed off at haydock
Report Shakepseare's Sheriff • February 19, 2011 4:52 PM GMT

Report eric_morris • February 19, 2011 4:55 PM GMT
Hendo says so yes.

haha shows how much 'dwm767' knows
tailed off today
Report dwm767 • February 19, 2011 6:02 PM GMT
Haha, so your strongest form lines are going to be Haydock on unbelievably heavy ground are they!? Interesting...if it was that simple (or as simple as you two), this game would be easy!

Regardless of what he ran today, I still believe he has the attributes to win a Triumph! Looks a type suited to Cheltenham, he's hard as nails, and McCoy will be back on top to make strong use of that!

I'm not saying he's a cert, im saying he's got all the attributes, unlike some power-puff French import who needs very little to rile her up!
Report dwm767 • February 19, 2011 6:03 PM GMT
*powder-puff
Report j2010 • February 19, 2011 6:20 PM GMT
ap mcoy will ride grandouet as barry g is riding media luz, and your form line is local hero beating franklino whos a waste of time, and then beat third intention who turned up and turned the tables today by 9 lengths, we have seen the best of local hero hes not an improver, a media luz has improved every time shes hit a racetrack, something with great scope for improvement wins triumph hurdles,
Report Shakepseare's Sheriff • February 19, 2011 6:22 PM GMT
j2010....spot on....this will go to an improver through the season...always does!
Report Fistfulofdollars • February 21, 2011 12:24 PM GMT
Will be interesting to see if Gradouet runs in the adonis on saturday at kempton...will probably be a deciding piece of the henderson jigsaw?
Report Alvarado • February 21, 2011 12:26 PM GMT
i heard hes got CELTUS lined up for that owned by simon munir
Report Fistfulofdollars • February 21, 2011 12:29 PM GMT
Thanks Alvardo...maybe Grandouet goes to the triumph without another run if that's the case. I still think it's the form horse to beat...a switch by Barry however would be fairly damning as the trainer knows what it is to win the race...have folowd him on Alone Success and katarino over the years...
Report j2010 • March 1, 2011 1:54 PM GMT
pricewise :)
Report Alvarado • March 1, 2011 2:09 PM GMT
pricewise has been a curse for henderson horses spirit river/minella class
Report MONKEY-MAGIC • March 1, 2011 2:13 PM GMT
didnt grandouet, media luz and tartan di sarti all run behind sam winner in same race?

and didnt barry choose to ride tartan??? which means they thought he was best of the three on work at home? and he turns out to be rubbish ....so grandouet and media cant be superstars???

barry will ride hendo 1st choice ...not mccoy ..so whoever barry rides will have best chance in race altho i still feel hendo wont win race this year

not sure what will win tho .... doesnt look like a superstar in race so could be a big priced winner this year ...altho prob be about 12 horses all around 10/1 price on the day
Report Alvarado • March 1, 2011 2:18 PM GMT
solid race so wide open grandouet/sam winner are good but i feel there vunerable to a relli good one i was always of the belif that we hadent seen the truim ph hurdle winner yet even as late as early feb thats why i backed moose moran.but i must say i was very taken with zarkander cos to me he quickend twice once off the turn to go past them and then again to hold of molotof who looked like he had him going to the last and the betting told u on sat that zarkander would improve loads i think hes the one
Report MONKEY-MAGIC • March 1, 2011 2:23 PM GMT
i knew something didnt look right when i was writing ....just figured it out ... titan not tartan!!! ;-P
Report Come On Hardy • March 1, 2011 2:29 PM GMT

cheers hardy, my internet goin bit slow at mo and didnt want to log onto racing post website to check facts which i should have! :-S
Report R Carver • March 1, 2011 7:27 PM GMT
Alvarado - do you have any idea how NJ Henderson would rate Molotof compared to Grandouet - this would give us an idea as to how Zarkander should be rated against the favourite?
Report acey deucy • March 1, 2011 10:47 PM GMT
I cant wait for this Bridle Ponce to get to Cheltenham, been prancing around getting lumps of weight from everything, and been getting the run of the race.
Cheltenham will find this one out "Big Time"and i will be laying till the cows come home.
Report R Carver • March 1, 2011 10:49 PM GMT
Acey - you mean AML?
Report acey deucy • March 1, 2011 10:57 PM GMT
Yes AML.
Report R Carver • March 1, 2011 10:59 PM GMT
Looks an open race to me, and whlist I think she is very classy, and will receive weight, i'd not be certain she'll get up the hill as she will almost certianly run free. BJG on Grandouet I guess too.
Report AL BUNDY • March 1, 2011 11:08 PM GMT

Report Alvarado • March 2, 2011 12:31 AM GMT
yeah good point carver hendersons might have came away very pleased from that he does seem to be relli bullish about grandouet
Report uncle jam • March 2, 2011 6:49 PM GMT
What do we reckon now? FW or Triumph? Been topping up on NRNB for the Triumph but think the handicapper's given her a chance in the FW with some overly high ratings for other horses.
Report rhinestone • March 2, 2011 6:58 PM GMT
If he runs Molotof and puts Bass on Luz, she'll have 11st1lb, 9lb's less than he thought a week ago. He might not need to run Molotof, if he knoes Sailors Warn is running.
Report pantom • March 2, 2011 7:40 PM GMT
I think its probably 50/50 now for which race. FW looks easier race and she will have a decent weight if top weight stays in. I think probably FW now but will depend on owners
Report charwell. • March 2, 2011 11:28 PM GMT
Been solidly supported and no reason why she doesn't go down the TH route.
Report Tavaris Jackson • March 3, 2011 12:15 AM GMT
Solid support was as a result of Pricewise.
Report Brian • March 3, 2011 10:01 AM GMT
That handicap mark in Fred Winter looks very inviting to me. If he couldn't win that handicap, he wouldn't place in the Triumph.
Report Stake & Chips • March 3, 2011 10:11 AM GMT
Have to say I'm surprised they are not going to the FW with AML, now that they have Grandouet and Molotof as possibles for TH.
Report Koo.... • March 3, 2011 10:16 AM GMT
the FW track would suit a hard puller alot more than the TH track.   But if they only bought her for breeding you can see why they;ve choose the TH
Report CVByrne • March 3, 2011 10:31 AM GMT
I'd he runs molotov in the fred winter she'll run off 11-4 so it's up to him to decide.
Report Temlett • March 3, 2011 10:55 AM GMT
Do you think the triumph would make much difference to her value koo?

She is group 3 placed on the flat so I would have thought that her paddock value is secured? Having said that, she seems to have a largely jumping based pedigree so achievements over the sticks may weigh more on the breeders minds now than they would normally do.
Report BJG • March 4, 2011 9:49 PM GMT
MOLOTOF ran a cracker on his British debut in the Adonis Hurdle but the handicapper’s gone to town on him giving a mark of 143 — up 17lb

There’s no doubt that Molotof ran a good, solid race with potential and it rode like a decent race, too. The ground was on the slow side and he coped with it well as you would have expected from his French form. As for the future, he’s out of the Fred Winter with that sort of weight and there’s not a lot of point in giving his maiden away cheaply. Whatever he achieved this season he’d be better the following one and he’s a horse that has the scope to jump a fence in time.
Report BJG • March 4, 2011 9:49 PM GMT
In contrast, CELTUS, the other four-year-old, ran a grand British debut in the Dovecote and certainly has been given a chance in the Fred Winter with a rating of 132.

He just got a bit tired at the second last in a contest that rode well. And you’ve got to remember that Nicky hasn’t had him very long so hasn’t had the time to get where he wants with him.

But when you get this close to Cheltenham and horses of this quality suddenly arrive on the scene it underlines what strength in depth there is at Seven Barrows.
Report CVByrne • March 5, 2011 12:42 AM GMT
Cheers  for that, luzy in fred winter so. Can't daron him running her off that mark without molotov.
Report CVByrne • March 5, 2011 12:44 AM GMT
Phone nonsense as usual.

To translate that, she won't run in fred winter. Mischief
Report Masterminded • March 10, 2011 1:33 PM GMT
A Media Luz as expected out of Fred Winter. Tartin De Sarti apparently improving at a quick rate and worked very well with Grandouet.
Report Gashboy13 • March 10, 2011 9:11 PM GMT
looks like she's out...
Report Alvarado • March 10, 2011 11:01 PM GMT
judging by the prices titan de sarti has started at i think hes always worked alot better than hes actually shown
Report stormey1 • March 11, 2011 2:39 PM GMT
