Hey Big Spender: Ryanair

was really looking forward to this one this season and backed him for the Hennessey where he was far too keen.

Has had plenty of jumping problems and not sure he could cope with the Ryanair level as one mistake in that sort of race and you've had it.

Will be difficult to place now but I think he'd get 3 miles and perhaps the Will Hill Chase would be better?

In his element carrying big weights in h'caps but gets outclassed in better company imo

Horses rated as high in the handicap as HBS usually end up shouldering near top weight in the william hill a task that has proved too much for many a horse.No horse has won that particular race with more than 11 stone since Unguided Missile back in the mid 1990's and no horse has managed it rated 150+ on offical ratings since 1983.If i personally would go for the Ryanair

He's best short of 3m. He'll have top weight in the 2m 5f handicap so the Ryanair looks the logical target to me.

However it seems they are going for the Racing Post Chase so may not even run at Cheltenham.

Trainer reported today that Hey Big Spender could be second highest at the weights in the Racing Post..11-11. That seems a mighty ask to me. The Ryanair could be perfect, it has run well at Cheltenham, but would it cope with the better class? I think it could flounder in either, although I am a huge fan.

Quoted in the RP as thinking of going straight to Cheltenham rather than carrying a penalty in the RP Chase. As I said above, he still needs to improve again and may be best on softish ground, but the opposition seems to be Albertas Run, Poquelin, J'y Vole and Deep Purple who filled the first 4 places last year, Breedsbreeze who I don't think is up to this class, Forpadydepaplasterer who seems to be going downhill fast and may be Nacarat and Kalahari King. I think that 40/1 is good value to beat those.

Yeah price seems fair.

Think tartak is imprving this season and looks like he is getting his act together.

I still think Riverside Theatre will turn up and take all the beating.  One for non runner no bet, could see him going off 5/1 if turning up

With them seemingly having second thoughts about the RP Chase I've been tempted in and took the 40/1. If he runs he'll be about 12/1.

I layed off too soon then! Took 90 and laid off at 50. Still a nice 40/1 free bet.

Forpady and Sizing Europe are both out of the race.
