Crap over hurdles and crap over fences. Not ideal in this game.

just hearing the words Cousin Vinny makes me cringe...When backing Dunguib last year a friend just kept saying to me Cousin Vinny, Cousin Vinny and smiling.

This horse did me a monumental favour in the Bumper. After a miserable week to that point on the punting front I made my friend stay in the pouring rain and cold to see him win in virtual darkness after we'd hoovered up big prices following his debut win. He was not unfancied in the end but I think we were the only ones jumping around by the winning line as we cheered him in - we got a few dirty looks from disgruntled punters who, like us, were soaked to the skin and had a long train journey to look forward to.
Funny how a Festival win can improve the mood! |

He picked up a tendon injury after that defeat to Quevega at Punchestown in 2010 and yesterday was his first outing since. Doubt he will be turning up at Cheltenham again. Remember after HF ko from the Supreme in 2009 I backed this horse at 7s. Didn't eat up on the journey over and went rapidly down hill after that
. Nice to see him back and winning although he always looked short of top class over hurdles since that Supreme. |
