Noticed a dramatic shortening in his odds for the Festival chase (formerly Willhill chs) over the last 2-3 days. Has he had a favourable mention in A.Kings Weekender write up or has he been tipped up somewhere?
16-1 with hills became 8-1 and best priced 10's elsewhere.
Stands up and he wins. Owners have "unfinished business" in the race apparently. Helped myself to some 12/1 on Tuesday. Can see him going off no bigger than 4/1.

He is entered in a Grade 2, 3m hurdle at Haydock on Saturday. Is the plan to run him over hurdles to protect his chase mark?
Was impressed with how well he travelled against Grands Crus until fading turning for home. A 143 chase mark would give him a great chance in the William Hill

Why so sure he goes for the chase? Surely if that was the plan theyd have given him a prep over fences before chelt. If he were to win impressively at Haydock surely the temptation would be to go down the world hurdle and punchestown route instead of trying to win a hcap chase at chelt.

Going to take a lot of beating off 143 next month provided he jumps round safely, whereas probably playing for a place at best in the World Hurdle
Protecting his chase handicap mark presumably ?Going to take a lot of beating off 143 next month provided he jumps round safely, whereas probably playing for a place at best in the World Hurdle
Agree he'd take a lot of beating in the chase but he couldnt complete in the race last year, his season of chasing was riddled with desperate mistakes and he posted his best performance returned to the smaller obstacles. The horse was unable to race until last month so how much meaningful fence schooling can they give the horse between his run at Haydock and Cheltenham?? I actually think he can be a contender if he goes for the World Hurdle. He should get a lot closer to Grand Crus than last time out anyway. Anyway whereever he goes I hope he comes back safe..he's definitely one of my favourite horses of last few years. His brother court in motion is a machine too.

King horses were under a cloud last season and it particularly affected the Chasers. Look at Blazing Bailey, for example, and see how much he has improved.

Connections are not stupid, they know he's not good enough to win a World Hurdle.
Preferable to have the fav in the handicap chase than be hoping for a place in a grade 1 imo and that is certainly the route I'd be taking. If they can pick up decent prize money at Haydock on the way, good luck to them.

Rhinestone......Can you shed any light on his world hurdle entry???
Just watched re-run of last years william hill, still travelling ominously well when he overjumped at the tricky second last fence, his jumping for a novice was fine.Seriously well handicapped off his current mark, very few miles on the clock for an 8yr old,PF may be spot on that they want to protect his current rating. Not sure why hes entered saturday????Definite player if he reappears in this years william hill.
