Anybody have any idea which (if any) race this horse may be targeting at the festival please?

Only a guess Paul but I would suggest that Daves Dream will be aimed at his trainers Dads race, the Grand Annual

thanks pilgrim. i believe the same, and requested him to be entered into that market on here but still isnt?! a very good guess imo, look at the correlation between runs over minimum trip and runs over around 21f.... run a blinder at cheltenham (my main bet that day) so has course form, could it have run over the extra distance (which it has never got) to protect a handicap mark?

and there are 5/6 of henderson's horses in that market on here, him not being one of them :(
Report pilgrim January 20, 2011 9:37 PM GMT
Hmm. Should be a decent bet on the day if he turns up! Save your money until then maybe?

7 runs over 18f or less, 6 wins, giving away 15lb 10lb and 5lb on separate occasions, the 15lb being at cheltenham and winning by 8 lengths... im taken ;)

Just had a quick look at odds checker. Best price at the moment 16./1 Hills

cheers, yeh 14/1 with bet365. i just cant believe a favourite isnt even in betfair market, especially having also been requested.... oh well, guess it will be at some point, but not gona get any big prices about it, thought could do with trainer having about 6/7 contenders for the race

Good luck with it anyway. Grand Annual is one of my better punting races as it goes!

yeh and to u. i backed 2nd last year, hoping to go one better! fancy anything else much festival-wise?

Not very original but I am keen on Binocular. I quite like to follow 'trends' although I do appreciate its not everyones cup of tea. Not had a profit from the Festival for the last two years but 05-06-07 and 08 seemed to do very well. Couldn't have Denman, Kauto or Commander for the GC on account of their age but would be more than happy to be proved wrong (it wouldn't be the first time lol)

yeh i just posted on the "nap of the festival thread" my views on hurricane fly if ur bored lol but i agree gold cup wise, im a big fan of pride of dulcote, what a friend (and pandorama if conditions right) and have bleated on many times about them lol couldnt rule out commander as dont think would have to improve at all (or even run same) from last year to win it. i like silviniaco conti in the champion hurdle aswel, think its being severely overlooked tbh
Report pilgrim January 20, 2011 11:03 PM GMT
Couldn't back Silvianaco Conti with your money Paul what with me being a trends man. 5 year olds have a shocking record in the CH. I am still hoping they will have a change of plan and go for the Arkle as its a real chaser in the making and I have bet it at 200/1 on here! Shame the stable have Ghizao or I am certain they would take the Arkle route. PS. I know Katchit won the CH as a 5 y o
Report Paul4 January 20, 2011 11:08 PM GMT
yeh i've got a saver on arkle but cant see that with  no runs so far. conti was 8/1, then ran well behind menorah on first run at cheltenham, giving him 4lbs, in a race he hadnt targeted and was thrown in off the back of 2 fantastic runs that shocked the champion trainer into keeping him over hurdles when obviously would be an arkle candidate... should be in far better condition and will probably have strengthened up more by march, stays well so no worries there, and suddenly went out to 40s on back on run behind menorah.... i think he's great value :D add to that i think the form of nearly every horse in the CH market has potential flaws, and i really fancy his chances, almost definitely shouldnt be that price imo!

Daves Dream has to fresh imo, if he goes there without another run then hes a player.
Report Paul4 January 21, 2011 5:04 PM GMT
if he goes there fresh in a 2 mile race i will be backing him regardless, was just hoping to get a half decent price now

Had a look at the grand annual and at this stage would be a very interesting runner. However, am a bit perturbed that he is entered in the racing post chase over 3 mile.
