Cool What else would he run in after this? Is there a decent race about 3-4 weeks after this? Not sure he'd go straight to Supreme just off the back of a maiden hurdle win would he?
Report GI MAC January 20, 2011 6:18 PM GMT
Great news. I was getting nervous over my anti-post vouchers on this one. Apparantly he was coughing after his last run, which may explain his finishing effort, probably giving him time to recover.
Report Alvarado January 20, 2011 6:57 PM GMT
yeah agree im on him too and was getting very anxious.is that right about the coughing which obviously explains it.no hes gonna need 2 more runs hopefully weds huntingdon then perhaps the grade 2 at kempton on racing post day very classy horse
Report buddeliea January 20, 2011 7:10 PM GMT
yep, good news he is running soon.
Report GI MAC January 22, 2011 5:38 AM GMT
Which race have you guys backed him for at festival?

Will be interesting to see how Frascati Park gets on today.
Report buddeliea January 22, 2011 7:04 AM GMT
have him for supreme, though he is bigger now then when i backed him!!
Report GI MAC January 22, 2011 7:16 AM GMT
aye, main bet for me is Supreme at 25's. Stuck some quids on him for the Ballymore at silly prices which would actually give me a better return. Looking forward to his run.
Report rhinestone January 22, 2011 10:01 AM GMT
Supreme, the way he pulled/travelled suggests the fast run 2 mile will suit him well.
Report the istabraq years January 23, 2011 12:42 PM GMT
came back from ascot coughing, that is correct and they were stunned it ran so well over further then 2 miles whilst not right....wrapped up over the xmas/snowy period and is  well now and back in work....runs this week and the aim is the supreme novice if he makes cheltenham....if its not right for the horse and a rushed prep will be saved for aintree.....either way he he is highly rated and very classy.
Report Alvarado January 23, 2011 1:42 PM GMT
intresting i know they think the world of him hes got 3 entires this week any idea where he runs.

i know henderson has got some really smart novices but he was meant to be there best one at the start of season
Report ilikewavingatbuses January 23, 2011 3:44 PM GMT
yeah nice horse alright, v promising, was surprised he got beat last time, now i know why!
Report GI MAC January 27, 2011 7:16 AM GMT
Anthony Bromley in The Weekender yesterday, asked to give readers a horse to follow this season:

"Sprinter Sacre is a lovely horse belonging to Caroline Mould. He is all set to run and I know he has been pleasing Nicky. He looks very nice."

Well he would know I guess, can't wait to see him run, need to see it on the track mind.
Report Paul4 January 27, 2011 7:25 AM GMT
already run on the track? finished 2nd to frascati park??
Report GI MAC January 27, 2011 12:05 PM GMT
Thanks, well aware of that. What I mean is he's getting talked up a lot by various connections just need him to come back out and show it.
Report Alvarado January 27, 2011 12:41 PM GMT
he had 3 entires this week and has been pulled out of all of them and dosent go to donny tommorow hes entered at hereford on sun but u do not want to see it run there on bottomless ground and its not a track he tends to run his best ones at
Report the istabraq years January 27, 2011 1:26 PM GMT
yea, i dont understand what there thinking concerning his entries...donny over 2 miles on id guess decent ground, find it hard to understand why they ll pull him and go to hereford which will be a bog over 2m 4f !!! my guess is he wont go there either.
Report Alvarado January 27, 2011 1:35 PM GMT
ffos las next saturday 2m novice there on welsh champion hurdle day
could be an option
Report Alvarado January 27, 2011 4:33 PM GMT
AP Mccoy jocked up for hereford over 2m4f bad news when was the last time nicky henderson ran a really good horse at hereford
Report flyingbolt January 27, 2011 4:44 PM GMT
Burton Port (twice)
Report Alvarado January 27, 2011 5:33 PM GMT
yeah but they thought  he was moderate dident they i remember henderson saying he just wanted to win a race with burton over fences then he improved
Report flyingbolt January 27, 2011 5:48 PM GMT
It was in a bumper and a novice hurdle. His first 2 runs for the yard. Heavily backed both times.

Seems they thought something of him.
Report Alvarado January 27, 2011 6:33 PM GMT
not really good horses go off 1/5 at hereford not 6/4
Report flyingbolt January 28, 2011 3:30 PM GMT
ffs

He was well backed
He won both races
Were the RSA and the Hennessy flukes ?

You'll be telling me black is white next.
Report Alvarado January 28, 2011 4:07 PM GMT
what the fu ck  are u going on about burton port is a very good horse i have never doubted that i repeated what henderson has sed numerous times that the horse has surprised them big time they thought he was jus an average chaser no more where as SS is meant to be one of there best horses

anyways dosent run at hereford now GOOD means they still like him loads
Report flyingbolt January 28, 2011 4:18 PM GMT
You asked when Henderson last ran a good horse at Hereford.

I told you.

You then proceeded to tell me he was thought to be moderate.

I questioned that.

You then tell me that you never doubted Burton Port was a very good horse.

You're very good.

what about KID CASSIDY very intresting horse and massively over priced he too is entered at ffos las on sat he trounced tornado bob at newbury first time up by 15l and hes won twice since and then last time out wen beaten fav he was beaten by rock on ruby but he had to give him7lb and he pulled really hard in the race and found the ground too soft he remains a very exciting horse i think
Report Masterminded January 31, 2011 5:47 PM GMT
Yep I would agree with that Alvarado. I don't know what they are going to do with them all really. He has soo many good novices.
Report Alvarado January 31, 2011 8:23 PM GMT
glad smeone agrees with me regarding kid cassidy but backing this hendeson horses in the novice races are a lottery hes got so many to chose from and despite the likes of bobs worth/minella class winning the big races so far apparently sprinter sacre is top of the pecking order and has been all season long
Report Paul4 January 31, 2011 8:45 PM GMT
remember mick fitz saying that nadiya de la vega and sprinter sacre were definitely ones to follow from the henderson yard having watched them at home (the former was also mentioned by paul nicholls/anthony bromley) cant wait to see sprinter sacre back out!
Report gravy January 31, 2011 8:47 PM GMT
Thanks Grade One.
I'm excited again.
Report Alvarado January 31, 2011 9:04 PM GMT
mick fitz could stop anything hes a bigger bock than gayweather so i hope he dosent tip this one up he cant tip himself out of a wheelbarrow
Report Paul4 January 31, 2011 9:19 PM GMT
think there's a difference in tipping a horse to win a certain race (varying opposition etc) to recognising a class animal when seeing one, would imagine someone of fitz's elk would be decent enough when it comes to that
Report buddeliea February 3, 2011 5:42 PM GMT
is all ok with SS?,saw trainer interview today talking about his novice hurdlers,no mention of SS.
Report Alvarado February 3, 2011 6:02 PM GMT
best novice hurdler hes got thats why hes keeping quiet so he wont get hyped up

lets hope for a big run,i need to have a supreme horse, struggling with this race!!
Report Alvarado February 4, 2011 1:43 PM GMT
really looking forward to seeing him run tommorow got win very easy mind its a poor race
Report flyingbolt February 4, 2011 4:14 PM GMT
The Pipe juvenile is a useful tool. If Sprinter can beat him nicely it will be a good performance.
Report meadow.sg February 4, 2011 4:50 PM GMT
BG on atr..why mention Spirit Son if this is the one?

I was riding work on Friday morning and gave my first ride at Ffos Las, SPRINTER SACRE, a nice breeze and he felt real well and looked a picture — for the record, Spirit Son gave me a good feel too.

Sprinter Sacre’s debut run at Ascot back in November was reasonable enough when he was second to Frascati Park but he scoped badly afterwards so there was even more credit in it. He still jumped brilliantly on the day until he faded up the straight and ran much below expectation. I’d be very surprised if he doesn’t live up to them now in the two-mile novice hurdle.
Report GI MAC February 4, 2011 8:38 PM GMT
Wouldn't read too much into that I don't think, fecker is spoilt for choice just now I reckon.

Will find out tomorrow if he's the real deal.
Report Alvarado February 4, 2011 8:51 PM GMT
yep we will hes a monster the ral sprinter sacre will turn up tomoz
Report Alvarado February 5, 2011 1:24 AM GMT
he had any number of excuses last time
1 he was a sick horse after the race and scoped badly
2 pulled hard
3 blew up after needing the run badly like all hendersons horses did at time
4 over a trip which was possibly too far 2m3f

all that and he still almost won against a genuine 135 horse with a ton of experince that got the run of the race and the 3rd home that day who was beaten a country mile is a horse called poungach who has won since back at ascot.i genuine believe this horse to be top class and i will be devasted if he cant win easily tommorow

cant stop think about this race and henderson runners. im on sprinters bt keep think bout spirit son. he only entered in this. nt even in the neptunes. OH why henderson??
Report Alvarado February 8, 2011 7:11 PM GMT
what about Minella Class got the best form of his horses

spirit son was very impressive but palace jester has been beaten since well find out avoutt him on sunday

im a huge fan of sprinter sacre and im on at 28s but the one i really like at a much much bigger price is KID CASSIDY i know he was beaten at newbury by rock on ruby/megastar but he was really edgy in the paddock and very keen down to the start and during the race plus the ground was really testing and im sure that running is all wrong.i cant get what he done to a really smart horse in Tornando bob out of my head he thrashed him 15l on the bridle and the runner up is now rated 142 on that hes a huge runner and henderson still likes him a lot he runs this sat in a smart race back at newbury which will tell us a lot
Report R Carver February 8, 2011 7:29 PM GMT
Al - do you think Tornado Bob has just improved markedly since that debut where he was probably not ready? I do, so i dont read that beating by Kid Cassidy literally. However, I dont read the Kid Cassidy defeat in the fog literally either. I feel sure he is better than that.
Report Alvarado February 8, 2011 7:53 PM GMT
he probaly has but kid cassidy did beat him a long way i think tornado bobs improvment has been down to the ground he looks like he really enjoys the heavy groundeither way i think KC is a proper horse and a big player in the supreme
Report R Carver February 8, 2011 7:53 PM GMT
In terms of getting the likelihood of this horse running in the supreme, should anything be read into his price on BF as compared to Spirit Son, Minella Class and Gibb River?
Report Masterminded February 8, 2011 7:57 PM GMT
Who else does Mcmanus have for the Supreme?
Report Alvarado February 8, 2011 8:03 PM GMT
shot from the hip or maybe backspin
Report rymattock February 9, 2011 2:36 PM GMT
wats with the slight drift now 17.5's and spirit's now 15's??
Report duncan idaho February 9, 2011 3:55 PM GMT
Spirit Son's owner was quite bullish on ATR lunchtime
Report Ekbalco February 9, 2011 4:17 PM GMT
Wonderful prospect - another magnificent beast in terms of looks and confirmation from that stable. They really do buy a quality horse - looks like he's got the engine to go with his looks.
Beautiful fluent mover.
