2nd and 3rd races saturday house entries for wymott, wishfull thinking, punchestowns and glenwood knight. could give some clues festival-wise. wymott looks very nice in rsa, dont think punchestowns will run but the other mccain horse glenwood knight won very easily and (bar one dodgy fence) jumped really nicely fto. wasnt a great race, but did it well and mccain speaks very highly of it in timeform 50 to follow book (i think was there). still a big price as has alot to do but a strong showing sat and i'd consider it given what trainer has said

I'd want to see Punchestowns win the race very well to give him any sort of chance at the Festival. Wymott would be interesting but I get the impression he's soft ground dependent. Glenwood Knight would need to improve a hell of a lot, and if he was to run a big race I might be inclined to view that a negative against Punchestowns and Wymott as opposed to a positive for him! Bit harsh though perhaps.

which festival race for punchestowns? i really like wymott, hope ground doesnt cost him running his race at festival :( GK just looked slick, and knowing nothing about him other than reading the trainer's comments, was reserving judgement before writing it off in higher class. seemed to think would be contesting the top novice chases i think

Yeah very true, and the yard seem to only speak when they feel necessary!
Personally I would run Punchestowns in the Ryanair but im reliably informed the Gold Cup is the target! I think Wymott is an iffy one for the RSA, because if it did come up very soft id favour Quito De La Roque! I get the impression he will need conditions to fall absolutely perfect.

i cant see punchestowns winning gold cup, 400+ day layoff for pride of dulcote and still won (i know bit extra distance but still...) i really like wymott, and as u say, connections rarely big up their horses chances needlessly. have taken a couple of quid at triple figures for glenwood knight just in case runs a blinder sat. wymott gave adams island 7lb and a 5 n a half length beating and that has subsequently won, gave a stone to 2nd who would have been 2nd to peveril if not for the fall, and had definity a whole 16 lengths behind who was receiving 7lb and nicholls says he cant pick between that and the minack. so the form seems to stack up nicely, and that run was on good to soft which is likely to be similar on 2nd day of festival. wymott also beat the now 138 rated pearlysteps and tarablaze, with alfie sherrin behind them. i like it, and think 16s is far too big as is improving by the run
