Captain Cee Bee at 16/1 on the good ground he'll get in March. Had no work before Leopardstown race at Xmas as everyone knows Eddie Harty doesn't have the best facilities and said he had missed a number of pieces of work. If CCB has a "on his day" run like Big Zeb did last year, he will be right in the reckoning. Intensive schooling is also the key to unlocking this horse's undoubted ability.

ah right, thought you had to give a longer priced one - agree Big Zeb is most likely winner but he'll be too short for Seagull.

Not sure that there is a suitable race at Aintree as the Melling is half a mile further and Tataniano is too high in the handicap to realistically be entered in the Red Rum chase.
Problem is that he really needs it like a road imo and although he was visually impressive at Aintree last year, he didn't beat much (even Osana was over the top imo). Owner doesn't seem that bullish either, heard a quote the other day that they're not sure he's quite up to winning a Champion Chase. As for me, I agree with many others that Captain Cee Bee is the value right now but given how fragile he is, not sure PW would put him up. Impossible to predict who Sir Tom might go for, thought Pride of Dulcote was an odd choice tbh - he normally says that he doesn't like betting ew unless the selection has a good chance of winning and I fail to see which piece of form POD has which puts him within 20lbs of the principles, thats a lot to make up in two months especially after a long absence. I reckon he might go Mad Max but personally don't think he handles the track. |
