The spare fiver thread was one of the best in the lead up to Cheltenham last year, wonder can a few big price runners be thrown up again!

Was probably a lot earlier last year as the first 2 selections were Drumbaloo in the Bumper at 50 and Rite of Passage for the Neptune at 14-16/1.
Obviously neither won but anyone who backed them had a runner at a significantly shorter price.

Struggled to get into the National Hunt this year, so not even got a cent on antepost for the festival.

Any big/decent priced suggestions would be appreciated!

Drumbaloo was a great ramp Devil
Pity he bombed out, will try and find a better one. Happy

lol I wonder was it exclusively that thread that had him going off at 10/1!

It was still a great shout even if he did bomb out in the race... 50's into 10's is not to be sneezed at!

Mikael D'haguenet / Quel Esprit double in the arkle / rsa

breedsbreeze for the ryanair at a huge 66/1 on here
beaten 1/2 a length by tartak in the peterborough when coming back from a 669 day break due to injury, rated 150 after 2 chase starts.
4 wins from 5 in his 2008 season over hurdles with some good horses in behind, can be expected to improve upon his latest run and could be a good 2nd string for the stable.
good luck with however you end up backing.

Ah. happy memories of a great thread. I culd still have been in the Bahamas if RoP had won Sad

Mine at this stage would be Shot From The Hip in the Neptune. Impressive in bumpers last year and subject of one of the biggest on course gambles I have ever seen, going off 3/1 in the Bumper. Unfortunately EOG's horses were wrong by then.

Started the season with a 2nd when not fully wound up, and when his horses werent quite right, then followed up with quite a pleasing win at Leop, in what looked a decent little race. Looks tailor made for the the 2m5f trip and is currently 25/1. He is actually still about 60/1 on here which seems very big. I actually have a few shekels on at 100+

Good luck.

I've just watched Maoi Chinn Tire win at Wetherby! Wow...
Absolutely p!ssed up at 200/1 there.

In all honesty he probably can't go from 6f claimers on the flat to winning the Triumph.... can he?

Just had a throwaway couple of quid on

Hidden Universe - Supreme
Keys - Bumper

£5 returns just over a grand, has to be value there surely

THAT WAS MY THREAD LAST YEAR !!!....LOL....GREAT FUN and cheers to downallstar who tipped up Drumbaloo and yes it lost (in fact it was the first one beat if I recall, was scrubbing at halfway)....BUT, it was great fun for well over a month as the price tumbled.

Luckily, as it happens - I have another spare fiver and like last year...any long priced suggestions with good sound reasons and I'll get on

JY Vole in Ryanair decent price on here, 3rd last year slighty unlucky just behind current 5/1 fav Poquelin. She is decent value as Mullins stated is her target, ran well both times this season, lto travelled well but didnt get home over 3 miles on heavy ground, think better ground will suit.
Good luck on whatever you have fiver on!

Despite being on at bigger prices I still think OSCAR WELLS is value for the Neptune at about 22 on here.

At a wild price I dont think SALDEN LICHT has much to find to make up into a live CH outsider.  Still 100 on here and if connections said it was being aimed at the race it is bound to shorten after dotting up on the bridle under top weight at Exeter last time out

Al ferof in albert 3 miler 27/1 finished 3rd in the challow hrd bt nichols said the first priority was a clear round. and the trip was 2 short!

Hope the spare fiver was stuck on Oscar Wells as advised - live one now.
