Forum blocked him so can't see his posts. Wish others would do that so nobody would respond to his drivel. It's a disgrace that these forums are not moderated.

Back to the OP
This is Pride of Dulcotte for the 2011 Gold Cup we're talking about I presume - just so I'm crystal clear. |
By:
i believe it is yeh.
Hopefully a load will follow his tip, bigger prices for others then. |
By:
WD on your price willie but this has no credentials for winning the gold cup. A hd defeat of Punchestown getting 3lbs puts him about 10th to 15th best in the race.
By:
If this horse wins the gold cup and any of the big three actually complete then I'll never back a horse again and retire.
He should have tipped up no bet. |
By:
^^^ Agree. Cant have Pride Of Dulcote at any price for a Gold Cup. Be surprised if it runs given what is already in the stable.

Very small minded to say the horse has no credentials on winning the Gold Cup. The horse acts at Cheltenham, was only just beaten by Weapons Amnesty who went on and absolutely hosed up in what looked a strong RSA. Then on his come back run after a season off(which he is more than entitled to come on for) being only his second run over fences he beats a very good horse in Punchestowns. He could be a very good horse IMO and I have always thought so. I have backed him at numerous prices from 140's to 40's and in a season when a new champion is more than likely to take over I think he's got a great chance. Ok he shouldn't be favourite or anything and he's probably underpriced now but you would be silly to totally write him off.
By:
The form of the Albert Bartlett 2 seasons ago is very good and if Weapons Amnesty was fit and going for the festival i would be lumping on him for the Gold Cup so i think Pride Of Dulcotte could go well in the Gold Cup, but whether he is good enough to win or not im not sure but i certainly would not write him off

Alarming post there, CV. |
By:
Ant other gold cup, but not this one. The big three are still miles clear of the rest.

Am I right in thinking this was the horse that ruptured Rubys spleen in a fall at cheltenham?
A horse that has run in just 2 chases against a total of 5 other horses. And he's value for the gold cup how? |
By:
Every horse has a chance but this ones is very little.

Exactly, Punchestown looks the bet out of those two, and I couldn't have him either after the RSA performance. |
By:
Not saying it will win but the top 3 are getting on and as various posters have mentioned, it was just beat at the festival by WA who then came back and won a good looking RSA. It is entitled to come on for its debut run. I'm only gloating, as you do, when your early season thoughts work out right. I thought it "may" turn out to be a GC horse and was willing to stake a few quid at 130
By:
well done on the price.
Cant see it being anywhere near good enough to trouble the top3 myself, but you never know. |
By:
I'm not sure I buy into this Big 3 are getting old, in particular in the case of Imperial Commander who being just one year younger than Kauto has run half as many times. Plenty left in the tank imo.
By:
You won't possible know until the AON or even then until GC. Could be anything over sticks
By:
If I'm honest, I think IC will finish in front of Denman & KS again this year. He is still the one they have to beat.

Well said MasterMinded, we have both stated several times on here that P.O.D could be an outsider for the Gold Cup. Paul Nicholls has always said how much he rates this horse, and has said for months that he will get a Gold Cup entry; despite him being much shorter in the Ryanair market.
Made up that he's not been given an entry in the Ryanair so hopefully over to Ireland and then all systems go for the Gold Cup. I wouldn't be backing him now at 16's but I think he's an improving horse with a massive future over fences. I think he could be Nicholls' best chance in 2012 when it could be between him, Time for Rupert and Mikeal. |

LOL How many forums are there on here? You really think Betfair should be paying hundreds of ££££s a day for unemployed graduates to be reading thru all this drivel?! Come and join the real world, cv |

Well done on that trade, Willie.
Generous of you to donate the profit to the Football Association. Not sure they deserve it. Still, I am sure they will be pleased to receive £1500 for FA. Remember to sign the cheque 'S. Blatter'. Pride of Dulcote a promising horse. Not sure he is the type to thrive in bigger fields at a very competitive level, but definitely one to look forward to seeing how he develops. |

thinking of laying pride of dulcote off morning of irish hennessy as will surely be backed in for gold cup, and think will lose to pandorama in that so will then lay pandorama at much shorter prices after the hennessy and take a bit more about pride of dulcote when it drifts as think the gold cup will be different story :)

Ballydoyle,
I wouldn't back a horse just because something a trainer says. POD was gaining with every stride againt Weapons Amnesty in the AB a couple of years ago, and 140/1 was just too big. To give a horse a Gold Cup entry after 1 chase is a statement in itself Anyways Nicholls always says his horses are good because 99% of the time they are good, thats why he's Champion trainer!!!! |
By:
2 chases? debut and then few weeks ago, but still a good sign imo. i agree well chief, nicholls hasnt been champion trainer for years for no reason, i dont back his every horse because its his, but i do end up with most of my bets being either his or henderson's, hardly a bad thing imo
By:
Sorry Paul, meant to say that Nicholls said he was getting a Gold Cup entry at the start of this year before he beat Punchestowns the other week (it was in his stable tour on RPTV about 4 or 5 months ago)
By:
if the gc was a rematch, pod against punchestowns thenid be on punchestowns. no 2 horse race tho and i think both have quite slim chances
By:
oh right yeh well chief, i backed him based on that so should've clicked! :) think the same with michel le bon next season aswel...
By:
good point well chief nicholls always liked him. i remember when he broke rubys arm in his fall. travelled beautifully through his races that year - big engine. bigger longshots than him placed before
turpin green mon more |
