Nicholls' string are red hot. King seems in fair form, chipping winners in at a reasonable rate without being in blistering form.

With the weather interrupting training routines, who is suffering?

Venetia Williams is not having loads of winners, likewise Twiston-Davies or Hobbs.

Any views?

i dont think nicky hendersons are running that well hes had a lot of beaten favs recently and had a number of dissaponting runners at newbury the other day

Alan King seems to be finding his stride nicely and (surprise, surprise) Nigel Twiston Davies has started to bring his string back. The signs look good for those two. Twiston Davies' New Yr lull and spring revival appear to be annual.

Hobbs' string seem to be back in the grove, good winners 2 weeks running and lots of others running nicely.

Very unusual for Paul Nicholls to have such a quiet Saturday - 4/5 runners? A few in Ireland tomorrow, but it is very unusual to be so quiet on a Saturday. Besides that, his seem to have turned the corner to a large degree.

Nicky Henderson has had any number run below form in the last few days (State Beneficial, Lush Life (possible excuse in missing the start) Nadiya De La Vega, Rackham Le Rouge, Loose Preformer, even Binocular did not ooze with his usual brio (notwithstanding the gallop and inevitable short fitness level)) but still churning out buckets of winners.

An interesting point you make about Nicholls having a quiet Saturday whereas last month was his busiest January I can remember. He sent out almost twice as many runners in Jan 2011 than the previous year.

The Twiston Davies winners of late have all been horses we hadnt seen much, if at all, previously this campaign and thus arent handicapped/penalised out of things...Baby Run, Crescent Island, Sherwani Wolf, Listenlook, Kaybeew.....Beat The Boys also ran well but he has dropped in the weights since earlier in campaign

Twiston Davies has turned the corner

Just 2 of Nicholls' last 20 have won since Zarkander. I make it Hobbs has had 2 winners since Fingal Bay's impressive win at Exeter, although they were Captain chris and Quinz. Lots of Henderson's talking horses (does he have any other type?!) have been beaten soundly since Minella Class was beaten at Huntingdon.

Alan King's seem to be running well - top trainer? He could have a double on day 1 with Medermit and Bensalem...!

100% in his last 4 runners [;)]

Top trainer Brian. I used to love Batswing.

Caroline Keevil 3-4 (75%) before today - a couple of 'em had clouted fences/hurdles before going on to win which proves that:

'Keevil's wobble but they don't fall down.'

I'll get me coat.

Nicholls' horses are not finishing their races at all lately. They really fancied that bumper horse today and it found f all when push came to shove. Kings horses are going well. Nicky's are not winning some of the races they should but hes still getting winners. Gary Moore's horses are flying.

I think Broomfield just ran a bit free today, i'd back him next time, bt i agree MM, some of Nicholls' are not travellign quite as one would expect. Similarly Henderson.
Report Masterminded March 5, 2011 8:48 PM GMT
I think he's a good horse. The way they were all talking about it it wouldn't get beat though. Like you I will probably back it nto but todays race looked ideal for him. They are just not finishing how they should IMO.
