Any ideas of which festival race could be the target? Maybe the neptune?

Morris said after the race he'd need to speak to O'Leary (owner) but likelyhood would be the Neptune...also going to head straight to Chelt as well.

thanks 3132, took 130s for the neptune before yesterdays race so was hoping it would :)

Looks every inch a chaser in the making...would expect he'll feature fairly prominent in those markets this time next year Paul.

Thanks 3132. Trainer touted it as "the new dunguib". Have it as one to follow in future over fences and over further, just thinking about this year and wasnt sure if it may go 3m but yesterdays run seemed to suggest neptune would be ideal

Mouse Morris believes that he could have a very exciting prospect on his hands in the shape of First Lieutenant after his battling Grade One victory at Leopardstown on Wednesday.

The unbeaten Zaidpour was sent off at long odds-on for the paddypowerpoker.com Future Champions Novice Hurdle, but could never peg back First Lieutenant who battled bravely to the line.

Morris was pleasantly surprised by the victory given he expects the horse to be much better over fences and he hopes he can fill the shoes of former stable star and Cheltenham Gold Cup hero War Of Attrition:

“We’re delighted with him and we were only surprised he won because we thought the trip (two miles) was too short. He kind of produced what we thought, but maybe a bit earlier than we thought, without being cocky. He’s by Presenting and ideally wants good ground. He’s really a horse for the future. He might have one more run, possibly at Cheltenham in the Neptune (Investment Management Novices’ Hurdle), but we won’t be overdoing it this season.”

oh right, well i realised earlier that i think i was referring to the comment made about last instalment by mr fenton (hence the dunguib quote) backed first lieutenant in neptune and last instalment as one of mine in the albert bartlett so think i just confused the comments after i'd backed them (and not before thank god)
