Can't help but think not enough got into the race to suggest we saw a super star winning. Personally i think the runner up will go on to better things there was a fence down the back that burton port uprooted that probably cost him. Denman ran a cracker, think it was the 2nd last blunder that stopped him in his tracks otherwise i'd of said he would of finished 5-6 lengths closer. But well the rest? China Rock NR pandorama might aswell of been a NR Neptunes Collognes BD, Madison De Berlais Fell, Weird Al finally found out in a decent race seeing as he aint ran in one yet, carruthers made his usual knock all the stuffing out of myself mistakes. Taranis ran well but probably wants 3m max. Niche Market makes the form look on par with last years tbh.
Bellow the standard time but wouldnt you expect that seeing that every horse that finished bar Denman and Taranis were carrying 10 stone
Niche Market has finished seven and a half lengths further behind Denman than last year at the same weights and Denman has been beaten 15 lengths. Dangerous to rate a race on one horse but I'd be confident this was a very good race.

below standard time i ment quicker. They went off quicker than jet planes with most of them carrying 10 stone it was always going to be a quick time, interesting what nicholls said about the ground saying it was lively??

This form is **** hot and will pay to follow. As I've said in previous posts, the winner will prove quite difficult to place frm now on but stable and jockey did a brilliant job today. The second should win his share perhaps over slightly further and we all know the third is a legend.
One point though. Now that I've had my bet, Burton Port running off 152 plus 4lbs overweight shows how well handicapped Dance Island is for the Welsh National off 137, having only been beaten 3 lengths by Nicky Henderson's charge at Aintree. Winning form at the track when thrashing Dream Alliance over hurdles getting weight.

Agree that Burton may prove to be the better horse but I wouldnt write of Wierd Al just yet. He had a very hard race lto and he looked like a horse that hadnt recovered

Easy to knock a horse after the race but beforehand this was being called the best handicap chase anyone could remember. Tactics surprised me but to hold a prominent position in a race of such quality and be able to stay on like that is the sign of a top class horse. The only problem to me is that he doesn't seem to have any natural targets to go for. The Lexus would seem ideal but I agree with the trainer that it's not worth going to Ireland if Cheltenham's the aim. Can't really see Burton Port being the better horse as he's been beaten at Newbury and Haydock by Diamond Harry but he may be more durable I guess. Trouble for him is that he'll go up in the handicap so may have to take on the best over fences from now on.
