I think Nicholls said Toubab wasn't able to show his form last year due to being weak and did still look a bit weak at Haydock even though he won easily. That Haydock form could be misleading as I don't see how Dunraven Storm ran his race and don't think McCain's horse is a real winter ground NH horse.

Would not put people off backing him 25 nrnb,after all if he does run he must have shown something,and will probabaly be a contender and a shorter price.Personally i have a feeling he wont be up to CH class,but he could be of course.

If they are bringing this one on slowly, that is perhaps sensible. Good Triumph horses reward a bit of careful handling the following season, I feel. I don't like to see them rushed back and over-raced early the following season.

I am not sure Barizan has let the form of last season's Triumph down. I am more inclined to think they may have gone to the well with that one a bit too often, a bit too soon given how much he gave of himself when in form.

We know so little about Soldatino, though he gave the impression last season of potentially being very classy, with the suggestion he might need further than two miles in time to show his best. There must be a fair chance they will avoid taking on the big boys this season (at Cheltenham, at least) and give him more experience in lesser company. If he ran in the CH, though, he might just have enough class to surprise a few, given a quiet ride and allowed to work his way into the race behind the fast pace that is almost ensured with so many good horses likely to line up. Under those circumstances, at a price he is one I might look at in the place market, at least.
