This horse showed ability more than once on the flat but looked like he'd prefer flat tracks when he ran really well at Newbury. A candidate for a handicap round Aintree in the spring? Trainer does well there.

i think the issue is, judging by his stable tour comments on the horse, he does not consider it a handicap horse, he clearly has massive hopes for it.

"Had a great season on the Flat, showing improvement throughout and finishing off in the Cesarewitch. He was drawn two and would probably have been better off being dropped out and given a chance to stay the trip. As it was he was wide throughout and a little bit too keen, so he didn’t see the race out. He’s shown a good aptitude for hurdles in the small amount of schooling we’ve done with him since going through the sales and he’s got a great cruising speed. I thought they might even aim him at the same race Wayward Prince won last year but sounds like they think it's a bit quicker than him. Interesting to see where they aim him but a shrewd outfit who know their horses.
