Struggling to see any credible opposition at Newbury tbh
Time For Rupert - chasing Tidal Bay - BF Chase Zaynar/Karabak/Restless Harry/Duke Of Lucca/Sentry Duty entered at Ascot Berties Dream/Arvika Legionnaire/Tell Massini/Reve De Sivola/Quel Esprit all gone/going chasing Peddler's Cross gone down the 2m hurdle route Only one I can possibly see giving him half a race is Shinrock Paddy if Nolan decides to send him over |

Can't see him run without headgear again
|

Disappointing. Whither to now?

Looks a bit of a monkey these days.

a real monkey not putting it in these days |

First time out against a fitter horse, karabak no mug either and was better in at the weights. Thought Zaynar ran a great race on ground not suited
|

But what about his inclination to return to the stables rather than head out on the second circuit? [:x]

he does keep trying which got him closer than he looked like getting a mile out.
i personally will wait till the cheekpieces are on before having a firm opinion on him this season.Still think 3m will be too far for him to be seen at his best. His ideal race could well be the Aintree Hurdle and skip Cheltenham. |

twas a year ago today he struggled to get past Cape tribulation b4 coming back on the bridle & unbelievably rocketing to champion hurdle fav.
Everything in his favour today will get some pace in the race over his fav track no doubt see him well off the bridle with 2 to jump but with outing under his belt can see him powering up the hill. |

I think Zaynar is still suffering from reading the 50 page thread that Kirk St Moritz had about him winning the Champion Hurdle last year. Still he's doing better than Steinbeck

wouldn't be in a hurry to back this one any time soon

Poor horse looks shattered. Campaigning a slow boat over a quick 2 miles when young possibly didn't help ? Or will they go back for the Champion now ..

Sadly going to be one of those nearly horses, might as well send him chasing.
