It used to be fine but I'm going back a few years to be fair, about a 15 minute drive, plenty of pubs / restaurants.

To be honest we have stayed at Stow on the Wold the last few years and that has got quieter, But given Winchcombes proximity to the course I should imagine that it's still fairly busy.

Used to stay there until about 3 years ago. Was excellent. Enough decent pubs. Number % is excellent food although a little bit fussy (depending on what you like). Very easy to get to the track. You're also the right side to get to Guiting Power and the Hollow Bottom one night which is normally good craic and full of racing people.

It will be an excellent place to stay - plenty of watering holes and places to eat: will laos be loads of racing folk about.

As CCM says, it is close to two of the most popular racing pubs in the Cotswolds.

It is an easy drive to the course, without going near the town centre, although you could catch a bus in from there - or even the steam train direct to the course

laos (although an appealing place to stay) is nowhere near the racecourse, and should be "also"

cheers for that,it sounds just what i am looking for dont really fancy spending much time in cheltenham town
