Willie Mullins expressed his delight at Mikael D'Haguenet's return to the racecourse, albeit for a schooling session after racing at Punchestown yesterday, and nominated a quick return for his star novice hurdler of two seasons ago.

The French bred gelding, who missed all of last season through injury, pleased connections when schooling around a circuit of the track under Paul Townend and could now make his debut over Irish fences in the Grade 1 Bar One Racing Drinmore Novice Chase at Fairyhouse on November 28.

Mullins stated "You'd have to be delighted with that and he jumped from fence to fence. He did run second in a chase in France over two years ago before he came to us and while the Drinmore will be a big ask first time over fences for us, it is quite possible that he will run."

Townend had earlier ridden Hurricane Fly in a three-horse workout over 1m4f on the Flat.

Maybe, CV, see him as more of an Arkle type myself.
For all the anticipation and deserved forum inches given to Peddlars over the summer, he didn't take the eye quite like this fella the season before. If he is 100%, he could be anything, exciting times!

Mikael would be more Arkle material to me. Quel Esprit was being talked about by mullins in his stable tour last season as an rsa horse. Both will probably turn up there I'd say.

Laugh Yeah I backed Mikael D'Haguenet for the Arkle very early last season before he was injured.
