says the horse will stay further but has gears and will go for the tingle creek how can he possibly win the tingle ceek on back of that today . tchico polos is quite a slow horse and beat it today . how will he be able to live with the master mindeds tatanianos of this world and a fit twist magic on the back of that effort. surely the peterborough chase has to be a target
Didn't Tchico Polos outstay Somersby in the Haldon? I thought Somersby travelled well enough off a strong early pace, but then faded at the end as the early pace took its toll. Did the race just come too soon for him, or is it possible he is not as much of a stayer in the making as we tend to think?
I think he has shown, this week and in races last season, that he is fast enough to be worth trying again over two miles in good company. I guess I'd be worried though that he is not going to be quite fast enough (in his jumping particularly) to be really competitive against the top two milers like Big Zeb. Possibly he is probably going to prove more of a stayer in time, but I'd like to see more evidence of his stamina before buying into the argument that he would be better off over further than the minimum trip.

When you've had the best staying chaser of the last 40 years in Best Mate you know how to handle them. Think she knows that he is not quite top class and is doing her best with him.

Horse has had one chase start over 2m4f, losing to the highly regarded Mad Max, when absolutely everything went wrong. Hardly conclusive evidence of a lack of stamina, or indeed class.
