jonjo said that he tryed him over fences and the horse never took to them so there be staying over hurdles.
hope this helps. |

If Binocular stays sound he won't run in the Champion Hurdle, and I can't imagine he'll stay the World Hurdle trip...perhaps he hasn't been schooling well!
By:
Can see him missing the festival all together then! Shame.

Dont write this one off for the Arkle. Connections have not confirmed a target for him and his schooling over fences at home can improve by the New Year taking him back on course for fencing. You dont expect it straight from these connections at all times do you?
By:
Is he running on Saturday ?
By:
Yes he is starting off over hurdles, whether he stays there the whole season is anyones guess other than connections.

thoughts on the race he is in on sat ? rest look average bunch to mee.

jonjo said that he tryed him over fences and the horse never took to them so there be staying over hurdles. If O'Neill told me it was Tuesday I'd still check my calander. |

On teletext this week, the vplan was to stick to hurdles this season

Yes and Binocular was out of the Champion Hurdle before winning it.

This horse has the profile of an Arkle winner imo and very surprised they have given up on jumping with him so early. He would have to be a bad jumper with little chance of progression to not give him a shot over fences with his raw potential, pace and athleticism. Especially with Binocular in the CHurdle and no stated target for him. Why dont they declare a Festival race for him it is obvious he will be very smart. As long as it doesnt add up expect a u-turn or a wasted opportunity. You will only know his target after the money goes down by the looks of it.

Done your conkers Eric? [:p]

I thought he'd be going for the arkle after the supreme novices. Always jumped like a chaser to me.
By:
Hope he's in the Greatwood, he'd have a nice weight as the novices weren't rated too highly by the handicapper last year.

No, unlike you with Celestial Halo.

He He He, you know that I haven't backed anything for the race yet and was against CH from the start, see below for a reminder...
Desmond Orchard Joined: 28 Jun 04 Replies: 1153 23 Sep 10 16:57 Like I said, I ain't the horses biggest fan, for a start I think his way of taking a hurdle will not lend itself to larger obstacles. I would be interested what it was about GMOOH that made you think that he had the right 'profile'? |
By:
So, how much have you got on GMOOH? It's OK you know, all is not lost yet!
By:
and you also know I dont back in the Arkle until seeing them jump. I was holding a mirror up to your already highlighted disengenuous comments you spout whenever you type.

You do have a very bad memory and avoidance strategy for threads you have made a tw@t of yourself on. I believe you also were likely to have rang up to get me a temporary ban even though I was proven correct ... n0b.
Desmond Orchard 23 Sep 10 16:18 However, given that this is ante-post betting and the likelihood of a horse falling by the wayside is priced in, then I don't see how you can possibly suggest that backing a horse like CH, whose stated aim is the Arkle, is a bad investment. If it all goes to plan he'll go off under 3s. Which were the highest rated hurdlers, aimed (with certainty of intention) at the Arkle, to have fallen by the wayside in recent years? Can't think of any off the top of my head, rather like you couldn't think of too many hurdlers rated under 140 to have won it. |

![]() I see the new season has arrived gentlemen. GMOOH starting in a very odd race tomorrow. If he isn't going jumping he is left with little options imo. |

Could be a JPMc 'arent I clever plot' going on or they could be telling the truth ...lmao.
By:
wouldnt be totally out of the champion hurdle would he?
By:
LOL, why would I want to get you banned? You haven't done anything to offend me in the slightest, I even enjoy your juvenile name-calling, in short you're comedy gold!! Besides, you would only rise Lazarusesque under another obvious nom de plume.
There is nothing in my comments about CH that I don't stand by, had he scooted in on his debut, he would've shortened in price, you will have noticed the comment, "If it all goes to plan"? I didn't get involved as his manner of hurdling made him far from likely to take to fences imv. Hardly an original view, but not too far wide of the mark on the available evidence. You didn't fancy him because he was too classy over hurdles and was a 'grinder', which are attributes that I maintain can be found in many recent winners of the race. So, all told am struggling to see what you've been proven correct on, at this stage? If, after the Arkle has actually been run, your original assertions are proven correct, then you can crow from the rooftops, 'til then I'd keep my powder dry, unless identifying 10/1 shots 6 months ahead of a race as unlikely winners is the limit of your ambitions. |
By:
Surely he is capable of giving these ordinary opponents weight, the price looks bigger than it should be thou.
By:
Mathematically 16 now is a bigger number than 10 then hence CH was not a good investment at 10/1. The only thing preventing him from going back hurdling is Ruby doesnt want any complications if he does well at further trips with a risk if Kauto doesnt win the KG of Big Bucks going over fences with an able replacement over hurdles. Think Ruby still fancies Kauto for a historic 3rd Gold Cup to join the legendary stayers and wont want anything getting in the way of that.

Howdi, it isnt unusual for people I have proven wrong to ring up at the slightest opportunity in the past ... I will let you decide who the children are. I havent done that in my years on here as unlike them I dont run to my mum if I get it wrong. Maybe numerous nom de plumes are a sign of success on here in that respect if you put your opinions forward on here, people dont like them, disagree, they get it wrong and end up stalking you looking to get you banned. Other than that I have never been a Neville Chamberlain clone when it comes to allowing Big Brother to support minority interests over the majority if they are wrong, that is never popular either.
