Let's see; 8 chases, fallen 4 times. Of 4 completed chases, won 2 and 2nd once and, when finishing latest chase after an extremely poor run, was found to be "clinically abnormal" (whatever that means).
His 2 chase wins are good form, and his last fence fall in the PJ Moriarty when disputing 2nd with Weapons Amnesty looks good (considering WA went on to win the RSA). Considering Weapons Amnesty was 16/1 for the Gold Cup before injury intervened and, for a poor-jumper, disputing 2nd in the PJ Moriarty at the last suggests the horse has some latent talent, I've seen a lot worse 300/1 shots. Couple of big "ifs" - needs to show health is all well after last race when finishing distressed, and needs to show that jumping has improved; and needs to show he stays 3-mile-plus. He is the sort that could nick a decent handicap chase at decent odds. |
