Murphy continued: "Zaarito's had a wind operation during the summer and he's strengthened up too.

"He's more laid back in himself and with a clear round he could be in the mix with the better ones.

"When he's wrong he does some stupid things.

"He's more mature and that'll make a big difference to him.

"I think we'll probably come back to two miles with him. He's loads of pace and we'll let him make use of his jumping and his pace.

"He'll probably have the same entries as Big Zeb at two miles, and we'll see which way he goes from there."

Whats everyone feel about this horses chances looks like hes going too be targetted at the race?

This horse should be retired cruel to run such a brain dead animal..All the gears but no ideas..Im a fan of this horse but he can't jump & can safely say he won't be winning the Champion Chase..

Dont fancy him to trouble the main principals in the CC...fell 4 times last season and some of them were very heavy falls and might have left there mark.

Yes I agree he has had jumping issues in the past but look at each one of his races last season he is a relatively light framed horse, I do not think he handles the heavy ground well and really struggles to jump out if it in my opinion if the horse has an oppurtunity on much quicker ground over 2m he could be one of the top 2m milers around

Maybe mongo...but he still needs to be able to jump which clearly he's struggled to do to date.

I totally agree Morgo7625. Soft and heavy ground brings this horse to its knees. Why connections kept running it on unsuitable ground in Ireland last season really confused me. I assumed they had a long-term plan not to play their hand too early. Have they fukt the horse up now? Falls and finishing distressed does not make easy reading. Given that Cheltenham is never soft these days I was hoping to snaffle fancy prices about the Ryanair, but no such luck - 42 last time I looked. Sad to say, I have greater belief in the horse than the connections. I hope they prove me wrong.

trainer and rider a disgrace.

Possibly Dananders, but I prefer to keep faith with the horse. Guessing at human motivations is a thankless task. The horse wants to run and jump, and it wants to do it on GOOD ground over 2m4f (imo). And when he does, I'll back him accordingly. Just keep it under yer hat...

What race you think hell end up in at Cheltenham Queen Mother or RyanAir or any?

Could be either...although trainer has Big Zeb in QM.

I'd like to see his jumping improve significantly before Chelt.

horse will end up killing himself and when he does colm murphy should be done for horse slaughter. digrace ride last time. if there was something wrong with zaarito lastbtime y did he not pull him up . he obviously was schooling in public . there was no excuse for not pulling him up if he thought there was something amiss and if he didnt at the time theres no excuse for the ride. he needs to go over hurdles before he kills himself this horse

I disagree, Dananders. The horse is best at 2m4f. He needs good Cheltenham spring ground. My only worry is Cheltenham's undulations. I understand your misgivings, Dananders, but I don't see the dangers, I see the glory. And yes, I'm asking the horse to be brave on my behalf, but aren't we always?

SattelliteFlight - could've only won the Coral Cup once Mourad was a non-runner. In my humble opinion.

The horse can't keep going over fences he will kill himself. He is a top quality horse but he's got to stay over hurdles. And as for that schoolong race what a f***ing disgrace. I remember backing him and thinking wtf is going on??

I've had my good days and bad days with this fella. Fallers insurance was made for this hoss. I think we'll have to hold fire until we know his target.

Love him but did suffer financially when he kept coming down last year and admit it would be a really brave thing to back him ante-post for a big one. Probably worth waiting until conditions are just right and then backing him on the day. Cheltenham would always be difficult for him to get round at, in my opinion. Big Zeb has never jumped like a pro either - is it coincidence or is Murphy not trustworthy?

would he really put his best 2 horses in the same race? zaarito would then go for the ryanair?

I think this horse will go champ chase 2011.  It can jump it just makes the odd mistake which costs it.  It falls because it runs at a good gallop.  I fancy it at Cheltenham especially as the fences there are a lot more forgiving these days

Have you watched Zaarito jump ive followed him from younger days, and its always been his achilles heel!
How can it fall at good gallop no such thing in Ireland, think you need specsavers!!!
wish you luck backing him round Cheltenham, should be 10s to get round?

Who here that say Zaarito won't jump around at Cheltenham felt that Big Zeb would get around and win last season??

Exactly.

Zaarito will win the champion chase after winning at Leopardstown this Christmas over 2m.
